Avoid at all cost! This is not a hotel….

    rating27 Aug 2024

We were attracted by the idea of it being a sacred and historic place, with stunning views and in fact it has nice views and the building has beautiful architecture, but the experience at the hotel was absolutely horrible! When arriving there was nobody at the reception, check-in is done at the cafeteria by very unpleasant waitresses, they write everything down on sheets of paper and pen, they make confusions with the information and are extremely rude, they are unable to apologize for their infinite mistakes… But bad got worse, when I tried to speak with the “manager” of the coffee shop, I was informed that in that place “the employee is always right, not the customer”... She was also very unpleasant and that was the worse experience ever in a hotel!!! Really, that is a place that doesn't understand anything about hospitality and has zero professionalism. Can Calco Hotels, Otros at Petit Hotel Hostatgeria Sant Salvador, responded to this review We are sorry that our establishment did not meet your expectations. As you say, it is not a hotel, so the service is different. Being a small place, the same staff is responsible for reception and bar duties. This does not justify poor service to customers, the matter will be investigated and a solution will be found. As a general rule, our staff is helpful and friendly, so we are very sorry that you had a bad experience. We will continue working to improve.

    Breathtaking

    rating08 Mar 2023

We stayed for one night. Breathtaking views. The drive is insane, our designated driver literally cried when we got to the top! 😂 Pros : friendly staff, clean, spacious rooms, location. Location is unreal. Cons : as many other reviewers have said, the food is bad. It’s canteen food, for €20. They know you’re kinda stuck there, at the top of a mountain so you have no choice where to eat unless you want to do the insane drive in the dark! So they can cook rubbish and charge whatever they want. Overall: I’d recommend this for one night. Even though the food was insanely bad, the views are an absolute do not miss. They are beyond beautiful. You can see baby mountain goats sunbathing and running around. We had a lightning storm the night we stayed, could see the forks hitting the ocean from where we sat drinking our wine. The monastery itself is stunning. So yeah, make the trip for one night for the experience but if you’re staying longer, you’re going to have to get used to driving up and down the mountain, possibly in the dark which I seriously would not recommend, in order to eat. My 5 stars is because it’s the most beautiful location ever. Makes up for everything else, if it’s a very short trip.

Pro & cons after 6 nights staying at this hotel:- the hotel has a great view, but quite tricky to reach- it's very clean but very noisy due to the big corridors that enhance the noise...a lot- staff is very friendly, expect for a chef, she has been VERY rude!- food is way below the average..Suggested for a night, max two

    Breathtaking spot. Good value

Amazing location, very clean, excellent prices and food good. Loved the restaurant set in a wine cellar. Evening meal was a set menu with no choice, so if you’re vegetarian you may need to make a specific request. The staff were friendly. A sense of tranquility everywhere. Bedrooms comfortable

The scene makes it, the food breaks it

    rating13 Sept 2021

Came here with my girlfriend for the last night of our trip in Mallorca. The place is in a beautiful location and it is rich with history, so that surely is something worth your while. Driving the road up here was quite the task, takes about 20 minutes from the main road and it is hairpin after hairpin on a road that is actually on good condition. The hotel is build in the old sanctuary/monastery, so the basic rooms are reeeeally basic: quite small, no air conditioning, no fridge, but clean and neat, if you just need a place to crash for the night.A fair warning concerning the restaurant, please don't visit. The food was basic at most and the list is pretty much the same as you would expect in a beach cafe, only prepared worse. Also the dining hall has no air-con and it started to be very hot during our short visit. All in all, beautiful scenery, basic rooms and very sub-standard food.
