The area was nice, but it wasn't worth staying overnight due to the cold weather and closed pool.

    rating13 Nov 2024

We stayed at this place for one night in November. The room was extremely cold. There were no heaters, and they were all turned off. There wasn't even a small space heater in the room. There were only two light blankets, and we were freezing until morning. The reception closed early, so it was impossible to ask for anything. The room was very damp and dark with a tiny window. There was no hair dryer, nor was there soap next to the sink to wash hands. Our room was very different from the photo of the room we had booked through Booking.com. Before arriving, I had sent a message asking if there was parking nearby and if a later check-in was possible, but I never received a reply. There aren't many restaurant options. There was only one nearby restaurant, and the others were all far away. The environment was very nice, but it wasn't worth it to stay there to sleep, especially when it's cold and you can't even use the pool.

Retreat into a beautiful, safe haven.

    rating12 Jul 2024

I was travelling solo and on a budget so picked this partly based on price. I couldn’t have been more delighted with the place. The backdrop is stunning, as is the monastery, I walked, swam and rested which was exactly what I was looking for. The church is absolutely beautiful and the whole place has a calm stillness that makes it very much a safe haven. Yes, the restaurant is slightly understaffed but the staff there work incredibly hard and if you have to wait a few moments for a plate or a cup - so what? If you’re looking for a pub/club type holiday, this definitely isn’t for you. If you’re looking to retreat from the world into a safe haven, this is the place. I didn’t have a car and took the bus easily to and from the Monastery. One thing to note is the road up isn’t for the faint hearted - sit on the side opposite the road edge! Many thanks to the staff.

AVOID RESTAURANT / visit everything else!!

    rating01 Jul 2024

Hotel and grounds absolutely beautiful, reception staff approachable and friendly along with the housekeepers all make an effort to greet you and say good morning etc. trail and mountain walks around the hotel are cracking with some amazing views! However AVOID - the restaurant at all costs breakfast is okay selection of pastries and bread to have and some cereals when they put them out. Evening meal we opted for every night so we didn’t always have to eat out, service is the worst I’ve ever encountered anywhere I’ve been, I understand that we (English) are tourists to the waiters but being left to sit for upto 20 minutes to order and forgetting to deliver drinks to us at all seemed to be no great concern of there’s by any means, I’d understand if the restaurant was busy but it really doesn’t get busy! Meals thrown down on the table. Generally zero customer service at all!!! Food was bland and just awful actually. Go for your meals out. Worth a stay for the area and beauty of it but as I said avoid the restaurant at all costs not worth the extra to be included.

Go to the mountaintop and enjoy the scenery . Most who visit may not believe the belief regarding the black Madonna but you can appreciate the atmosphere of this place in the mountains and walk the prayer path

serene place, needed better coffee and a way to make our own

    rating08 Oct 2022

We took a superior room which opened onto the placa and found it comfortable enough. Don't let anyone flush the loo while you're having a shower though - the water became scalding hot. We loved the surroundings of Lluc, so serene and beautiful. A miracle wasn't needed for the monks to decide it was a good place to live. The food was plain and adequate. We wished they could they provide a kettle for people who want to make their own coffee for an early start. You can get breakfast food to go, if you ask for it the night before, but not coffee or tea. And in fact the breakfast coffee was pretty bad. They do make espresso but the espresso in the bar was better. However, it doesn't open earlier, in fact later.
