  Pool will turn swimwear and hair green!

  Great location, apartments are clean but very small for a family of 4. 2 beds are located in the ‘front room’ so no actual space as such. Also only one wardrobe in bedroom so space is very limited. No oven or bbq, hob only and also no washing machine facilities as were advertised on BA holidays. Our main problem with this place is the pool, every morning by 7am 99% of the sunbeds were taken, it doesn’t matter how many times you tell reception or the lifeguard they do nothing and the same thing happens the next day. The pool will turn all of your swimwear and hair green, I have never seen this before and was concerned. However reception assured me it was safe to swim in (please see photos to see just how green!). Being close to Cala Gran and Cala Ferrera beaches is certainly one of the aspects many of our guests value most when visiting Cala d'Or.Regarding the pool water, we would like to reassure you that both last season and this current season we carry out two daily checks of the pH and chlorine levels, ensuring that the water always remains within the correct and safe parameters for swimming. The marks visible in the images shared are generally caused by residues from sun creams and body oils, which can accumulate on the water surface throughout the day. These residues are cleaned daily by our maintenance team, and we always remind guests of the importance of showering before entering the pool in order to help maintain the best possible water quality for everyone.Concerning the sunbeds, we completely understand how important comfort around the pool area is during a holiday. Our lifeguard carries out regular rounds to remove towels from loungers that are not being actively used, and we kindly request the collaboration of all guests so everyone can equally enjoy the pool area.   Lovely stay in a perfect location

  We have just arrived home after 8 nights in Cala D’or. We really can’t fault the apartments at all, they were clean and had everything we needed for our stay and in a perfect location. We didn’t use the pool area or the restaurant so can’t comment on those but we were very happy with everything. We had some very noisy neighbours for a few of the nights we were there but this is not a reflection on the hotel. The staff were all very helpful and friendly in particular Noelia (hope the spelling is correct) she was extremely helpful on arrival, this was our first time in Cala D’or and she took the time to show us the area on a map and recommended places to go including bars, restaurants and beaches, thank you for your advice and for your being so welcoming.We will 100% be back again, thank you Sergio Martín Guest Experience Manager, Other at Sol Cala D'Or Apartments, responded to this review Dear Guest,Thank you so much for your fantastic review!   The location of these apartments is probably the highlight, within walking distance to everything. The place was spotless, and the staff were very friendly and accommodating.The apartment was a good size with a nice balcony overlooking the pool. The apartments had all you would need, and shower gel and hand soap were provided. The downside was the noise from the other rooms; it was very loud, and I could hear the karaoke every night very clearly. More hand towels would have been useful, too, but otherwise a great experience.   20/10 could not recommend enough the hotel itself is stunning really clean amazing spacious rooms and pool is so pretty with loads of sunbeds available but the best thing here is the staff!   Thoroughly enjoyed our short 4 night stay here at the end of April. We arrived in the early hours of the morning and received a professional and efficient welcome and check in. The hotel itself is quite clean, smart, spacious, all functional and typical of the area - white buildings on 3 floors (with lift) built around the pool. Our room had a small kitchenette equipped with the very basics. Everything we needed. The only small drawbacks - and I say this knowing that we already received good value for money - is the WiFi on the 2nd floor was intermittent and patchy, which was not ideal as my husband had to do a little work each morning and the WiFi was not reliable at all. Also every day we have requested an additional pillow and every day the reception say yes it will be organised, and it never was. We requested several times! The room is cleaned every two days, with new bed sheets once per week. The cleaning is very good standard. The location is excellent because everything is walkable - Cala Gran beach and also the main centre and bus stops, tourist land train and shops are all a few minutes stroll away. There are good restaurants and bars on the doorstep, and a supermarket at the end of the road. The staff are all friendly and helpful. The pool of course was too cold to swim in at this time but it was a popular place to hang out during the day anyway.
