Location

The apartment hotel is located 400 m from the wide sandy beach of Puerto de Alcudia and only 100 m from the main street with numerous shops, bars and restaurants. A bus stop can be found 300 m from the hotel. The location also offers easy parking and a public playground in front of the small building. The area provides visitors with the possibility of enjoying water sports and visiting the Albufera Natural Park. Palma de Mallorca Airport is approximately 55 km away from the hotel.

Facility

Guests have a choice of 82 apartments and 60 studios located in a 6-storey main building and a 3-storey auxiliary building. English- and German-speaking staff at the reception are happy to assist guests at the reception desk round the clock. Check-in and check-out are available 24 hours a day. Amenities include a baggage storage service, safe, currency exchange service, cash machine and drinks machine. Wireless internet access allows guests to stay connected while on holiday. The tour desk offers assistance with booking excursions. A lift and wheelchair-accessible facilities are available. There are also a number of shops that make for great strolling and browsing. The grounds of the apartment hotel feature a playground and a lovely garden. Additional amenities include a TV room and a playroom. Guests arriving by car can park their vehicles in the garage or in the car park (no extra charge). Further services and facilities include a car hire service, medical assistance, a transfer service, an alarm call service, a laundry service, a coin-operated laundry and a hotel shuttle bus. A bicycle hire service gives guests the opportunity to explore the surrounding area independently.

Rooms

Rooms feature a living room, a kitchen and a bathroom. Air conditioning ensures comfortable temperatures. Guests can relax on the balcony or terrace. Rooms have a double bed, a queen-size bed, a king-size bed or a sofa bed. Extra beds can be requested. A safe and a desk are also available. There is a fully-equipped kitchenette with a refrigerator, mini fridge, microwave and tea/coffee station. A direct dial telephone, a television with satellite/cable channels and WiFi (no extra charge) are provided as well. Bathrooms include a hairdryer and are equipped with a shower and a bathtub. For extra comfort in the bathrooms, guests are offered a selection of towels. Guests can also book wheelchair-friendly rooms with wheelchair-accessible bathrooms. The hotel has family rooms and smoking rooms.

Sport

The outdoor pool complex includes a children's swimming area and is ideal for working out or just relaxing. A short break or an entire afternoon on the sun terrace, which features sun loungers and parasols, is time well spent. There is a poolside snack bar as well. The hotel offers an extensive outdoor sports programme, including cycling/mountain biking, tennis, golf, archery and horse riding. A number of sports are available, including water sports such as windsurfing, jet skiing, motorboat rides, paddle boating, banana boat rides, sailing, catamaraning, diving and aquafit. For a fee, guests can also enjoy water skiing and snorkelling. Guests can enjoy a wide range of indoor sports, including a gym, table tennis, billiards and darts. The wellness offerings at the apartment hotel include massage treatments and a solarium. Guests of all ages have the opportunity to enjoy a fun entertainment programme.

Meals

Dining facilities include a restaurant (with high chairs), a dining room, a breakfast room, a café and a bar. Catering options include bed and breakfast and half board. A continental breakfast buffet guarantees a great start to the day. For lunch, guests can order à la carte. Gluten-free meals and vegetarian dishes can be prepared on request. The hotel also offers snacks. The show cooking is a particularly special attraction.

    Outstanding staff and lovely hotel.This was our first trip staying at the Sol de Alcudia hotel, but we have been to Alcudia a couple of times before.From the moment we arrived the staff were amazing, extremely helpful and couldn’t do enough for you.We were on a late flight in, arriving at the hotel just before midnight. There was food waiting the rooms, check in was swift.I honestly don’t think I have been anywhere where the staff have done more, been more genuinely friendly or cared more for their guests.This is everyone from reception staff, restaurant staff (especially Maria who seemed to be everywhere all the time) to even the life guard who played catch with our son in the pool for ages just because he wanted to.The rooms are small, but perfectly clean and usable. The food is some of the best we have had at hotels.If you’re considering staying then please do, it’s a wonderful hotel with the best staff you could hope for.     A holiday that did not disappoint!

    We stayed at this hotel for our week’s holiday which did not disappoint. The cleanliness of the hotel is impeccable! Although we were self catering we ate at the pool bar aswell as the main restaurant and found the selection and standard of food was really good. Although the pool was really busy and sometimes difficult to get a sun lounger we had a balcony with a sun lounger and the beach was a very short walk from the hotel. Clear crystal shallow water and a clean beach meant there was plenty of choice to spend our days relaxing and catching the sun! Would highly recommend this hotel and location for a relaxing holiday !     Self Catering at Sol De Alcudia

    10 nights spent at Sol De Alcudia with the wife and little one on a self catering basis. Arrival:We arrived around 1.45pm where we were greeted by reception staff who were very friendly and helpful. Unfortunately check in was not until 3pm, this being the standard check in time, resulting in us having just over an hours wait before being able to access our room. Reception do however offer to take contact details to contact you once your room is ready, allowing you to enjoy the facilities whilst you wait. We packed swimming costumes at the top of our case and used the hotels facilities to get changed. This allowed us to utilise the pool straight away.Room:Although this is the first official review of Sol De Alcudia, this is not our first stay here but in fact our second. Once within the room, we were impressed with the obvious renovations since our last visit 3 years before. The rooms were modern, clean and finished to a good standard including the living space, bedroom and bathroom. We opted for a one bedroom apartment which done what it said on the tin, again impressed with the space on offer. The room itself had all requirements for a self catering trip, cooking hob, microwave, fridge alongside the utensils needed for cooking. Our room was pool facing and although there was noise as the night progressed, this is something to be expected when on holiday and hotel is located near pubs and offers entertainment. Overall no complaints as this quietened towards the end of the night.Facilities:The hotel offers free WiFi throughout the hotel and this is provided upon arrival. There is a safe within the room itself however this is an additional fee for those that require it. We visited the hotel during the off season, meaning the pool was quieter and sun loungers were available. I’m of the view that during the busier season there may be more of a challenge to get sun loungers as there are not vast amounts however again for us not a problem. Pool itself, clean and as expected. Kids pool located next to the bigger pool and has a slide and other bits within to keep the kids busy. We made use of the pool bar and visited the hotels restaurant on one occasion and were again impressed by both. Prices fair and on par with the other pubs and food places located near by. The entertainment team were friendly and energetic and made efforts to engage both with us and our little one. In the evenings there is a kids disco most evenings however there was only a show around once per week. In our previous visit there was a show every evening but we previously visited during the summer holidays so I am unsure if the shows become more frequent as the summer goes on and the hotels becomes busier.Location:We were around 45 minutes on a coach transfer from the airport to the hotel. The hotel itself is located near pubs, restaurants and shops meaning plenty on offer if you are self catering or just fancy a pint at one of the bars nearby. Lots of the bars offer entertainment both for the kids and adults, although basic entertainment it does the job and it was always a good atmosphere. The beach was only a short 5 to 10 minute walk away from the hotel. During our stay we visited the old town alcudia where the local markets are held. This is a 45/50 minute walk from the hotel which we completed going to and from. Easy to locate as it is a straight walk and again for those who don’t mind a wander, more than easy to access on foot. Within a taxi it’s a short 10 minute drive from where the hotel is located. If travelling with children there is an evening fun park which consists of outdoor bouncy castles, this is something we found online and were able to access again within a 45 minute walk from the hotel.Departure: Check out for all guests is 11am and by 11:05am the cleaner chapped the door to ensure we were packing and getting ready to leave. Thankfully we were or if running late then it appeared you were going to be encouraged to leave. The hotel has showers available and again a room to store your luggage whilst you wait for your return home. Showering facilities need to be booked in advance to reserve a time slot and we found it was better to do this sooner rather than later as the slots filled up quickly. Overall after a 10 night stay, we would return to this hotel again. No complaints after our time here during this holiday. I’ve given the hotel a 4 out of 5 stars and was advise that it is good value for money on a self catering basis.     Beautiful and spotless hotel

    We stayed from 1st May until 4th May for our first family holiday. We were stressed travelling as it was a late flight and we didnt get to the hotel until 3:15am but this was more easyjets fault as the transfer waited at the airport for an hour after everyone else had left. When we got to the hotel our 2 year old was crying and kicking off, the gentleman on reception straight away offered my partner the room key so she could bring our son to bed and let me check in which we thought was a really nice touch. 2 minutes after this my partner and son appeared back down as there was no cot in the room. Within a minute the gentleman om reception had this fixed and had a cot all set up in our room. The hotel had left us 3 dinners in the room for us getting in amd a few big bottles of water which was really appreciated. We stayed in the one bedroom apartment and it was absolutely beautiful and spotless. The staff are so friendly and will do anything they can to make your stay as smooth as possible. We did not hear any noise from the bar downstairs or the bars outside the hotel. The hotel is a 2 minute walk to the beach and a perfect location for local shops and a few supermarkets (colber was best and cheapest) we loved this hotel so much that we are already booking to go back again next year but for longer this time.     Great visit, would use stay gain

    Arrived on 15th early afternoon and greated by the ladies ar reception. Room wasnt ready until 2:30pm.BIG SHOUT OUT to the reception ladies and cleaners. All amazing service honestly.We were allocated floor level 1, room 120, Select Double Room. We stayed room only. Found the room to be excellent. Bathroom had shower, no bath which was to our liking. You get excellent Wi-Fi in the rooms and through the hotel.We found hotel across from us had loud entertainment which wasnt too bad to listen to. We are both adults with no children.There is a free gym on the first level which is excellent for those who like to keep fit.The pool is a great size, has an outdoor bar too.We stayed 5 days, 4 nights.Beach is a 10 minute walk (depending on how fast you walk)Did not use pool or entertainment Michelle v, Dueño at Sol de Alcudia, responded to this review Thank you very much for your detailed and kind review.
