⭐ Mixed Experience – Great Facilities for Kids, but Major Let‑Downs Elsewhere

    rating29 May 2026

⭐ Mixed Experience – Great Facilities for Kids, but Major Let‑Downs ElsewhereWe chose this resort after weeks of searching for somewhere suitable for our family, especially for our SEN child who needs space, structure and plenty to do. While there are some strong positives, our overall experience was unfortunately disappointing.---✅ Pros• Excellent facilities for children — Full access to two swimming pools, a splash park, soft play and the theme park kept our little one entertained.• Great entertainment team — The kids’ evening entertainment was lively and well‑run.• Comfortable beds — Surprisingly comfy and made for a good night’s sleep when the noise allowed it.• Spacious bathroom — Bigger than expected.• Very clean complex — Staff were constantly cleaning the pools, walkways and social areas.• Daily room cleaning — Fresh towels and a tidy room every day felt great after long activity‑filled days.• Brilliant location — Less than a 5‑minute walk to Magaluf beach, close to supermarkets, transport links and other beaches.• SEND‑friendly watersports nearby — A huge bonus for families like ours.---❌ ConsRoom Upgrade (€140) – Not Worth ItWe paid extra for more space due to our SEN child’s needs, but the room was extremely cramped.Three suitcases, a SEN pushchair and clothes for a week simply didn’t fit.Storage was nowhere near adequate for a “family room”.The balcony ended up being used as a storage area.Noise IssuesThe walls are paper thin.Every night we were woken by people returning from the Magaluf strip. We could hear conversations from adjoining rooms and corridors.Unpleasant SmellsOur balcony constantly smelled of cannabis from other guests.Corridors often smelled strongly of smoke.Food – The Biggest DisappointmentThe restaurant is spacious, but the kitchen can’t keep up with demand.Food was plain, repetitive, overcooked and lacked flavour.Children’s options were extremely limited — a real struggle with a child who only eats beige foods. We ended up eating out 5 of 7 nights.Show‑cooking queues were 10–15 minutes per person, and even then the food was bland and oily.Daytime snacks were also poor: bland, overcooked and repetitive.Bar AreasAll‑inclusive drinks were watered down with limited variety.Queues were long.No bar snacks included — no crisps, nuts, ice lollies, nothing.Evening Entertainment SeatingYou need to arrive early to get a seat. Not enough capacity for the size of the hotel.LiftsLong waits during peak times.---⭐ Overall ExperienceWe came hoping for a stress‑free family holiday that catered to our SEN child’s needs.Instead, from day one we were disappointed — the room, the food and the general experience made the trip harder than it needed to be.The facilities for kids are genuinely good, and the location is excellent, but the basics (room comfort, food quality, noise levels) let the resort down badly. We spent far more time and money outside the complex than planned because the food and environment simply didn’t work for us.Would we recommend paying for the upgrade?Absolutely not — it’s not worth it.

    Another happy visit

    rating27 May 2026

2026 marks our 3rd visit to Katmandu and it still holds a very special place in our hearts. We arrived at 1pm, rooms are not available until 3pm which is fine as you have access to everything onsite, however on arriving in our room on 7th floor it absolutely stank of cigarette smoke. Reception sorted this and refunded our upgraded wristbands for the inconvenience which was very thoughtful. This is the first issue we have faced in 3 years. We were rehomed on the 6th floor with no issues. Hotel is spotless, food is repetitive but I suspect it is the same at any all inclusive where you are catering for the masses. Saying that, It was always delicious with plenty of options and we never went hungry. People do reserve sunbeds which is allegedly prohibited, but given we went the week before half term, it was never an issue for us. We always found a bed in our usual spot no matter what time we went down. We aren't fussy about being right on the pool edge which helps. The only thing I would suggest is the kids disco being half an hour earlier and reduced to 30 mins (8-8.30) with the show starting by 9pm. Unfortunately 6 out of 7 shows were inside, I'm led to believe this was a technical issue with the mixer so probably a one off as the last 2 years they've always been outside, but we got a show on the outdoor stage on our last night which made me happy. I genuinely think my kids would live in the upside down house!! The entertainment team are fabulous and while my two didn't use the kids club this year they were always chatting and said hi to them - especially Dani who is our favourite!! All in all another wonderful and happy stay. Hoping 2027 will allow us to return. Hotel Manager, Owner at Sol Katmandu Park & Resort, responded to this review Dear Madam,Thank you for taking the time to leave a review of your recent stay with us at Sol Katmandu Park & Resort.Three visits and still finding new joys, what an honor! We’re delighted our team resolved the accommodation hiccup promptly and that your family enjoyed the vibrant entertainment offerings. We’ve noted your thoughts about show locations and timing, and while technical hiccups sometimes shift plans, we’re glad the stars aligned for that final outdoor performance. The entire team really hopes we can welcome you back on a future occasion. Great all round… except the sunbed wars

    rating24 May 2026

Great hotel for families. Food was great. All inclusive gets you meals and snacks and drinks all day long. Entertainment is brilliant. Katmandu park was a good afternoon out for the kids. Splash park also good lots of slides. The one big downside was the sunbed wars. There are signs that sunbed saving is not allowed and we saw a response to someone else’s review before booking that they have a pool concierge removing towels. However now we are here, by 7am all the sunbeds are reserved with towels with no one in sight. And the pool doesn’t even open until 10am! We’ve come back from the beach today at 1pm and there are no free sunbeds no where to sit despite lots of sunbeds just having towels on with no one around. Yesterday there were 4 sunbeds with just towels and no one on them for over an hour. Such a shame. Hotel Manager, Owner at Sol Katmandu Park & Resort, responded to this review Dear Madam,We appreciate your kind words about your stay at Sol Katmandu Park & Resort and are happy you returned home with great memories of your holiday. We're delighted our dining options and Katmandu experiences created memorable family moments. While we maintain sunbed policies for guest comfort, we're reviewing procedures to balance availability during busy periods.Your appreciation for the splash park's design brings smiles to our team.We would be delighted to welcome you back for another stay in the future. Best wishes,Alicia M., Sol Katmandu Park & Resort Team

    Not bad....

    rating23 May 2026

An overall good experience. The main public areas are very clean and there are always plenty of staff maintaining toilets etc. Our room however, was not the best. Under the beds were dirty, daily cleans were a quick wipe and clean towels. Restaurant food was very repetitive and the kids food for the 7 days we were there was the same. Spaghetti, tomato sauce, cheese sauce, chicken nuggets, chips and pizza. We ate out at least once per day. The restaurant for us is what let the hotel down. Facilities are fantastic. My 11 year old loved the crazy golf and rides. We would return but would reconsider the all inclusive package. Hotel Manager, Owner at Sol Katmandu Park & Resort, responded to this review Dear Guest,We would like to thank you for choosing Sol Katmandu Park & Resort for your holiday and for the time spent writing your review. We're delighted our team's efforts in maintaining clean common areas helped create a welcoming space for your family.Your feedback about the room cleaning standards has been shared with our housekeeping team to reinforce attention to detail. We're thrilled your 11-year-old adventurer enjoyed our whimsical golf and rides, creating those magical moments is why we love what we do.We all hope to welcome you again.Best regards,Alicia M., Sol Katmandu Park & Resort Team

Amazing hotel, super clean rooms, towels changed dailyBreakfast is the same food daily gets a bit boring by the end of the week They supply baby food jars at meal times which was a nice touch Staff are super friendly always went out of there way to speak to my baby which he loved Pools are definitely on the cold side even when it was 22/23 degrees Had a small incident at soft play in the baby 0-3 area where my baby got a hold of a plastic piece that was obviously from a broken toy and had it in his mouth was a close call and I went to the theme parks reception and he just said he’d look into it didn’t seem too bothered never asked our name or room number etc Nighttime entertainment the shows were very good but definitely a bit too short finished by 10-10:15 the kids disco before the shows was a big hit my little fella loved itThe all inclusive adults behaviour at night was unbelievable couldn’t even walk in a straight line some of them and the kids not being looked after which was awful 3am and kids crying in the corridors no one is cutting off the drink supply like they say they do We also noticed 2 men coming in one night during the entertainment not hotel guests acting very odd scoping out the place and asking people was it a party hotel no security to be seen at all in the evenings during the entertainment staff will not correct people no matter what there doing even people bringing in litres and slabs of there own alcohol Hotel Manager, Owner at Sol Katmandu Park & Resort, responded to this review Dear guest,Thank you for choosing Sol Katmandu Park & Resort for your holiday and for the time spent writing your review. We’re thrilled you enjoyed our sparkling rooms and daily refresh of linens, designed to keep things fresh for families like yours. Your little explorer’s joy with our team members warms our hearts, connecting with every member of the SOL Tribe, big or small, is what we cherish most. Your experience in the play area falls short of our safety standards, we’ve reinforced toy inspections and staff protocols to prevent such occurrences. We appreciate your note about breakfast variety and will share this with our culinary team to keep our tempting spreads evolving. While our pools are maintained at cooler temperatures for safety during active play, we regret this impacted your relaxation. We’re delighted the kids’ disco and evening shows sparked joy, though we’ll review timing to balance energy levels for all ages.Regarding security, our team conducts regular patrols and collaborates with local authorities, but we’ll strengthen visibility during peak hours to ensure everyone feels fully at ease.We look forward to welcoming you back on a future occasion. Best regards,Marina N., Sol Katmandu Park & Resort Team
