  Memorable and charming stay

  Absolutely gorgeous property run by a very warm and welcoming hostess, Apolonia. Huge value for the price, friendly staff and very accommodating. Make sure you hire a car in Mallorca as distances can be long and taxis are limited in peak season. Breakfast is fantastic, as well.

  A hidden gem!

  This was my 4th stay at Son Cosmet and I love it more every time! It’s reminiscent of being a guest at a friend’s beautiful country estate. The buildings have been carefully restored with great taste and flair without being overdone. With its relaxed vibe this is the perfect place to unwind away from the crowded streets of Palma. The couple who run the hotel have a wonderful sense of hospitality and are always available to assist guests in making their stay as perfect as possible. There’s a gorgeous pool with lots of space for lounging and sunbathing. Meals are served only on Wednesday and Sunday evenings and the food is simply presented and superb. The local wine is excellent. As the property is in the countryside renting a car is a good idea if guests want to explore this lovely part of Mallorca.   Lovely place to relax

  After a long flight from Australia, this was a great place to relax. Gorgeous 16th Century farmhouse that has remained in the same family. Kept in immaculate condition, like a museum with interesting artefacts throughout. Grounds are superb with a beautiful swimming pool and setting. Provided with a key to get easy access to a lovely beach. Owners are very helpful. Highly recommend. They have horses, so in the hot months there can be flies. Wasn’t a problem for us.   Wow! Beautiful and relaxing

  Small family run hotel about 1-2 km from Campos and approx. 8-9 kms from the beach at Sa Rapita. We hired a car from the airport at Palma and I think it would be difficult to move about the area without one (however, if you fancy riding a bike, the hotel has some you can borrow and it is very flat around the area).The hotel is set in a beautiful old building and grounds both of which are immaculately restored/maintained. With only 10 rooms, it is quiet and peaceful and perfect for relaxing by the pool if that is what you want to do. Did I mention the pool? It's a few meters from the hotel with 20 sunbeds and a few trees to provide shade. Towels by the side of the pool to pick up and drop off when you go back to the hotel. We had the pool to ourselves on lots of occasions and there were never more than 8 people around it - perfect for relaxing, dipping in the pool to cool down and then more relaxing.Our room was immaculate and I would imagine all of the others were exactly the same. Simple and elegant with everything you could want including direct access to a roof terrace as well. Our flight in was in the early hours of the morning and one of the family waited up to let us in and show us to the room, leaving us to check-in in the morning. A simple courtesy but it reflects the way the hotel is run - thoughtfully. Breakfast is simple continental style with juice, water, tea/coffee, pastries, fruit, ham, cheese, bread etc. We were able to take ours on the terrace every day - a peaceful and relaxing start to the day. In terms of other food some cakes/snacks are set out around 13:00 but other than Wednesday and Sunday evenings, the hotel do not provide food options. That isn't a problem as there are good restaurants in Campos, Sa Rapita and at some of the other fincas in the area. We ate out every evening (4 nights) and every meal was excellent. On a personal note, I had padron peppers on a few occasions and have never had a hot one - is that just me or is it an urban myth that 1 in 10 is hot?The hotel has parking at the beach about 8-9 kms from the hotel - they will give you a key to the gate to get there. A nice touch, towels by the hotel car park for you to take and return when you get back. Now, I need to be honest here, whilst we set out for the beach, we didn't find the proper route to it :-) You will get a map and you need to follow it. We didn't and missed the correct turning to the right by one of the mirrors and so ended up in the wrong place. At this point, we decided that relaxing by the pool was what we wanted.If you want a beach holiday with discos, bars etc. then this really isn't the place for you but if you want a quiet and relaxing location that you could use as a base or just somewhere to 'switch off' then this could be just the place you are looking for and I've marked the service, location and value accordingly.We have said that we would return to the hotel in an instant and genuinely mean that. soncosmet, Director de Recepción at Son Cosmet, responded to this review Dear Mr Tim,We are very grateful for your nice explanation of our hotel.Thank you very much for having dedicated some of your time to writing these beautiful words.We hope to see you again in Son Cosmet.Kind Regards,

  Wonderful tranquil place - highly recommended

  I came across Son Cosmet by accident when looking for a quiet inland place to stay after visiting the beaches at Colonia San Jordi. An absolutely charming place set in the most peaceful area, surrounded by lovely countryside, with horses everywhere. The pool and grounds are beautifully kept and it was great to be able to go for a walk directly from the house, with no need to get in the car. Very nice room and bathroom, immaculately clean. Total silence at night, but for the noise of the crickets - heaven! Highly recommended for some peace and quiet away from the touristy areas (San Jordi beaches are just a 15 minute drive away). Son Cosmet is still family run and you really feel this in the atmosphere of the place. The price is good value for what you receive - the following night I stayed at an agriturismo nearer the coast, which was more expensive, much noisier and not nearly as nice.
