Location

Ideal for beach holidaymakers, this hotel is situated in a quiet area in Playa de Palma, just a few steps from the public sandy beach. There are shops and public transport stops in the immediate vicinity, and the nearest bars and nightclubs are located about 2 km away.

Facility

The hotel was modernised in 2021. The hotel has 4 lifts and features 216 rooms. English- and German-speaking staff at the reception desk in the lobby are happy to answer any questions. A baggage storage service, a TV room, a car hire service, medical assistance, an alarm call service, a conference room and a lounge are available. Wireless internet access is provided in public areas (no extra charge). The hotel offers a range of facilities for guests with disabilities. Wheelchair-accessible facilities are available. A garden provides extra space for rest and relaxation in the open air. Guests arriving by car can park their vehicles in the car park for a fee (subject to availability). Active guests who wish to explore the surrounding area by bike will appreciate the bicycle hire service (for a fee). Bicycle storage is also available.

A short break or an entire afternoon on the sun terrace, which features sun loungers and parasols, is time well spent. The pool bar serves a selection of refreshing drinks. Leisure activities and facilities at the hotel include a gym, a sauna and a hammam or, for a fee, massage treatments.

Meals

Guests can dine in a cosy atmosphere at the restaurant (non-smoking and a buffet). Half board can be booked. A delicious and varied buffet is prepared for breakfast and dinner. Gluten-free meals, vegetarian dishes, lactose-free food and vegan food can be prepared on request. For a fee, there are also non-alcoholic beverages and alcoholic beverages.

    Gorgeous hotel, stunning views.

    Stayed here with my sister for a childfree little break away. The hotel is directly across from the beach and the views are gorgeous. There’s shops and restaurants on either side of the hotel with the marina to the right side as you leave. Bus stops are directly behind the hotel, and it’s 2 euro cash or card directly into Palma. We had an early flight out and arrived at the hotel before lunchtime. We checked in, and were able to access our room which was amazing. We had a sea view room, stunning views. Room was comfy and spacious, the shower was amazing 10/10. On the day we checked out we were able to store our luggage for our late afternoon flight and headed out, when we got back there’s changing facilities with showers downstairs in the wellness areas and towels . Wonderful to freshen up and change before your flight. We stayed bed and breakfast. Breakfast was incredible. There’s a manned coffee bar to order drinks along with Prosecco to alongside the usual drink options. Food options were plentiful with so many hot and cold options alongside eggs and omelettes cooked to order. We didn’t eat at the hotel otherwise, but did have drinks outside a couple of nights. Drink prices were really reasonable. There’s two pools, one at the front with the gorgeous beach views and then a garden pool at the back which has day beds as well as loungers. Pool towels are provided by the hotel. There’s no sun bed wars, we never struggled for space at various times. Both pools were calm, it’s an adults only hotel but I’d say the age range of other guests was mostly older and helped with the chilled vibes.

    Amazing cycling hotel and perfect for a sportive holiday. The rooms are clean, comfortable, and ideal for relaxing after a long ride. Excellent bike facilities with secure storage, maintenance space, and everything cyclists need. Dinner was delicious with quality food, and breakfast was also very good with plenty of choice to prepare for the day. Friendly atmosphere and great service throughout the stay. Highly recommended for anyone looking for an active holiday with comfort and great hospitality.     We stayed for 4 nights and thought the hotel was excellent. Great position by the sea, very clean, food in restaurant was very good, self service and lots of choice and the staff were very helpful and friendly. Would definitely stay there again!     A nice week early season!

    We spent a week at the El Cid at the beginning of April and really enjoyed our stay. Our room on the 6th floor had a great view, much better than the "side sea view" implied! The room was clean and comfortable with a good size balcony and a small fridge. A kettle was available but the two coffee sachets weren't replenished when the room was cleaned. My husband did manage to get a single sachet from one of the cleaners on a couple of occasions! A little maintenance would make the room even better. The flooring is very poorly fitted with some gaps in places and very squeaky in others.There are two outdoor pool areas but the least windy option was fenced off and the pool empty! The pool area at the front of the hotel is lovely but the pool temperature was pretty chilly at this time of year. There were plenty of sun loungers but that may be due to the time of year and temperature! The indoor pool is very small and not as warm as it could be but it was a good option for cooler days. The sauna area has to be booked so we didn't use that. The choice of food at breakfast was excellent with continental and cooked options, including made to order omelettes. The coffee was very good. On this occasion we had half board. Although there were a lot of options, there weren't many vegetarian options. As with many buffets, the food was hot fresh from the kitchen but the heaters didn't keep it hot enough. There was a microwave available which we did use a few times! The paella was always kept hot and every one I tried was excellent. For a Spanish hotel, 6.30 to 9 for dinner seemed a bit early. There are lots of bars and restaurants nearby but these were far busier during the day and early evening at this time in the season.The bar area was very spacious and very quiet, so we tended to go out for drinks after dinner. We loved being able to walk into Palma along the promenade. It's about 5 miles and hugs the sea all the way, passing a couple of little villages. For those less active, buses are approximately every 15 minutes and only 2 euros per journey. We also walked along to El Arenal. The hotel is right by the beach. Another bonus is the journey to the airport - 6 minutes by taxi!!! There were lots of cyclists in the hotel and it has its own storage area. We would definitely look for other adult only hotels. It was really noticeable how calm it was - especially at mealtimes!!!

    I’ve had a wonderful stay at the THB El Cid hotel. The location is perfect, just by the beach, but the tourists are not walking directly under your windows. It’s so easy to get from and to the airport.Someone could say the room decor is simple, someone would call it minimalistic, for me it was modern, with a nice balcony, comfortable bed and very spacious bathroom with combined shower and bathtub.Everything is very clean and the service is wonderful. Everyone was so kind and helpful.And then the restaurant - both the breakfast and the dinner are delicious, with an unbeatable value. Huge choice of food, from local specialities, thru really everything you can imagine and more. You can grab a table outside and enjoy dining with a view to the beach.Thank you for a very pleasant stay and I’ll be happy to visit you again.
