Location

The hotel is located some 15 km from the airport, in the AVE central station, directly beside the largest commercial centre in the south of Spain, in the heart of Málaga. The bus station can also be accessed directly (just 50 m away). The cathedral, the Picasso Museum and the Alcazaba can all be found nearby. Pablo Ruiz Picasso Airport is about 15 km away.

Facility

The hotel has 15 junior suites and 206 double rooms, which are located on 8 storeys and are reachable by lift. The reception desk is open round the clock. Amenities include a baggage storage service, a safe and a currency exchange service. Wireless internet access is provided in public areas. The tour desk offers assistance with booking excursions.     Good Hotel, Wrong Rooms - and No One to Fix It

    The hotel itself made a strong first impression - well-presented and clean. It’s such a shame that the most fundamental part of the stay went wrong.Despite booking and paying for specific rooms - including extra beds - we were not given what we had reserved. Check-in staff were aware of our group size, yet we were still assigned the wrong rooms. When we raised the issue, we were told the rooms we had booked were not available for our stay. No manager was available to address this, and the matter remained unresolved for the duration of our stay.A hotel can excel in many areas, but if it cannot reliably deliver the rooms we booked and paid for - and has no adequate process for resolving it when things go wrong - it’s difficult to return or recommend them.

    I had a wonderful stay at Barceló Málaga and would highly recommend it.The room was spacious, modern, impeccably clean, and extremely comfortable. One of the highlights was definitely the bathroom and shower — spacious, beautifully designed, and with excellent water pressure. It made every morning and evening feel like a luxury experience.The service throughout my stay was very good. The staff were professional, welcoming, and always willing to help whenever needed.The location is another major advantage. It is incredibly convenient, especially for business travelers and those arriving by train, with easy access to the city center, restaurants, and local attractions.Overall, Barceló Málaga offers a great combination of comfort, cleanliness, excellent service, and an outstanding location.     Brilliant location, nice rooms, but fridge doesnt get nearly cold enough. Breakfast is very good. Hotel is tagged on to the railway station from the airport [tap in, tap out dont bother queueing for tickets], and a good shopping centre with a large food court.     Great stay in Malaga

    We stayed in the Barcelo Malaga Hotel for three nights in a Junior Suite. The location is very handy and although being integrated with the bus, train and metro stations this is a positive for both arrival to Malaga and touring within the city. Area is clean, safe and there are several small scale restaurants. The historical center is two stops down the track on the RedLine metro. The hotel is clean, with a nice bar and an open air plunge pool on the roof. The junior suite was lovely with comfy bed and and abundance of pillows. Bottle water and as provided each day. Breakfasts were a great start for a day of touring. Pricing is competitive with the region. Hotel staff demonstrated a commitment to delivery of service at a high level and pleasantly doing so. The Assistant Manager, Ana, was extraordinary in helping us manage through a tricky medical situation. Truly exceptional. We would highly recommend this Barcelo hotel without hesitation.
