Location

This city and business hotel is situated just 100 metres from the beach, by the promenade in Malaga. It offers easy access to all of the points of interest in the centre of Malaga, which is 2 km away and can be reached in approximately 10 minutes by car. The main train station is also 2 km from the establishment, whilst the congress centre is around 3 km away. Pablo Ruiz Picasso Airport is approximately 5 km from the accommodation.

Facility

The hotel has 2 junior suites and 103 double rooms, which are located on 6 storeys and are reachable by lift. English- and French-speaking staff at the reception are happy to assist guests at the reception desk round the clock. Check-in and check-out are available 24 hours a day. Amenities include a baggage storage service, a safe and a currency exchange service. Wireless internet access allows guests to stay connected while on holiday.     Easygoing hotel - kind service, clean room, view of the park and beach. It’s about an hour walking along the beach to the old city, but it’s in a nice local area, just by the beach area. Comfortable bed, stocked mini bar. Bar and restaurant off the lobby, no gym on site (but can access a fitness club near by). No iron in my room (but I didn’t ask for one). Pod coffee maker.

    Lovely short break in Malaga the staff were very friendly and always polite big shout out to Paula always had a lovely smile and was happy to help you would definitely stay here again .

    Once again the Catalonia Malaga hotel has delivered on service, cleanliness, friendliness of all staff , breakfast buffet. Big shout out to Mercedes who remembered us from a previous visit when we checked in, her care of us and attention to details was very much appreciated. The room wasn’t quite ready and she went over and above to keep in touch with the cleaners and provided us with a voucher for a glass of Cava while we waited. (The room was ready before we finished the glass of cava - excellent customer service )The room was beautifully clean and we were on the second floor Room 205 overlooking the front and views out to sea. Everything was spotless and the shower gells, hand wash are high end and smell so nice . We booked this break on a room only basis as we enjoy getting out and about and using local eateries and mixing with the local Spanish residents however we did book breakfast for our last morning and as members of the Catalonia rewards club we were offered breakfast at 14 euros per person . The breakfast buffet was outstanding , lots of choice in all areas . The lady who was on duty was attentive and provided fresh orange juice to our table while we browsed the breakfast buffet. Fruit was lovely and fresh , choice of breads and cereals and pastries was great. The hot breakfast was ample and warm. Lovely coffee from the machine . Also noticed a good gluten free selection for those who need this . Lovely relaxing breakfast room and enjoyed every item we ate and drank . The staff in the bar were people we recognised from our previous visits and the attentiveness and friendliness is excellent. We did dine in the bar on our first evening and unfortunately we were a little disappointed as the meal was not quite as we expected having eaten here before and the portion size was definitely smaller and quality not as good as we recalled . Great location for those who want Malaga but a little way out from the hustle and bustle. Super local bus service easily transports you into town we used for number 7 bus. Great beach across the road and some fabulous cafes and restaurants all within a few minutes walk of the hotel. Overall another fabulous stay with this lovely hotel and its staff . I can definitely recommend this hotel and will be returning for a further visit as we missed out on sunny days so need to come back to fully enjoy the beach . Thank you for our 4th successful and happy visit .

    Probably the cleanest hotel I’ve ever stayed in. Absolutely spotless. A reasonable location near the beach but just far enough away from the busy town centre. A good bus service nearby.     Very last minute break from the rain, Good hotel , a little way out of the city but the bus-taxi service are excellent or the walk on the sea front takes about 30 minutes to the city . lovely staff so friendly and welcoming, nice room with free upgrade , linen changed daily but the icing on the cake are the beds....Fabulous beds!! So comfy and huge, had a great night sleep every night . Stayed 6 nights Only negative we ate in the bar restaurant the first might , pizza was terrible, so on that basis never ate there again. Otherwise nice hotel and well worth it.
