  Hotel is in a fabulous spot staff are good and room was lovely however the breakfast left a lot to be desired I like fruit and yoghurt only grapes red and green yellow melon and water melon available the breads were ordinary sliced breads one only good bread the cakes were dreadful not a good selection available and for the price of the hotel very disappointed would definitely not recommend the breakfast Catalonia Molina Lario, Guest Services / Front Office at Molina Lario Hotel, responded to this review Thank you very much for taking the time to share your feedback with us.We are delighted to know that you appreciated our excellent location, our friendly team, and your room.   Our go to. Incredible location, amazing roof top bar with views of cathedral and the harbour. Rooms are well set out with fabulous sleep quality. Parking available by concierge for limited numbers but a public secure parking very near. Breakfast is also good The staff here are absolutely amazingly helpful.   We stayed at Catalonia Málaga Lario for two nights, and unfortunately, our experience did not meet the standards we would expect from a 4-star hotel.We stayed in Room 201, which I would strongly recommend avoiding. The room was extremely dark because the windows directly face the opposite side of the hotel. There was almost no natural light, and you could barely see the sky or the outside. If you are assigned Room 201, I recommend asking for a different room.The location is very central and convenient, which is definitely a positive. However, if you are choosing a hotel in Málaga, I would recommend Only YOU Hotel Málaga instead for a much better overall experience.Unfortunately, several details made the stay feel more like a 2-star hotel than a 4-star property. No complimentary water was provided during our stay, and the soft drinks were not replenished on the following days either. The cleaning was also quite superficial.On our first day, we asked for slippers. The female staff member with dark/black hair working the evening shift was particularly rude and unwelcoming. At a 4-star hotel, we would expect staff to be friendly and helpful, especially when guests are simply making a reasonable request.There was also a problem with the bathroom shower door. The glass door was broken and would not close properly when sliding it, which resulted in water getting all over the bathroom floor every time we showered.Overall, the hotel has a great central location, but the service, room quality, cleanliness, amenities, and attention to detail did not feel consistent with a 4-star hotel. We would not choose this hotel again.   Stay away from this place , its a run down dirty hotel not even worth 2 stars. On August 23, 2026 The bathroom pipe started to drip water over my head in the bathroom while I was washing my face. I went to the reception to report it and while I was speaking the receptionist she answered a telephone call in the middle of my conversation!! I asked to speak with a manager she said there were none. I asked for a room change she said it was not possible. I am the most disgusted by this and have never been in a hotel claiming to be 4 stars with this poor quality, lack of customer service and accountability for their shortcomings. Stay away from this place!
