best place to stay in Malaga

    rating17 May 2026

A friend of mine and me stayed here in April 2025. Experiences were good and we booked again for the period 7-14 May 2026. Also this time the experience was very good: the hotel room was comfortable and very clean, the reception staff very helpful and friendly. We had a room on the south side on the 5th floor and we had a nice view from the balcony. I recommend this hotel to everybody who visits Malaga. Furthermore, the city centre is on 1,5 km. walking distance and public transport options in the vicinity are well available. If you walk 1000 meters, you are at the port, with many good restaurants.

    Enjoyable Stay At Hotel Eliseos

    rating01 May 2026

Great hotel literally across the road from the bullring and within easy walking distance of the beach and many of Malaga's main attractions. Reception was efficient and friendly, and our room (312) was clean and welcoming. Plenty of nice touches, including free wifi, aircon and room safe, even free minitoothbrush and toothpaste sets in the bathroom, which was spacious apart from the slightly cramped shower stall. TV showed only Spanish channels.A good value continental breakfast could be added to your room bill for 7 euros per day (well it was for us, although some reports say 8 euros). Good coffee! The rooftop terrace and pool offered great views of the bullring, the port and a pair of nesting seagulls on the roof of the house opposite. Some other nice little touches: in the reception area most afternoons they set up a bottle of the local fortified wine for guests to sample. There was also a box of souvenir bullfight posters you could help yourself to. No charge for any of the above, though a small donation to the honesty box was appreciated. All in all, a nice relaxing stay at a charming friendly hotel and a great base to explore Malaga. ¡Bravo!

    Basic hotel, great location

    rating04 Jan 2026

Hotel Eliseos is a basic hotel with adequate amenities but without any luxury. The good: great location within walking minutes of the harbour area, the beach and the city centre; generally pleasant staff, cheap and good breakfast, parking garage in the hotel, quite location, room is clean, excellent shower water pressure. The average: beds are quite hard, no lounge or seating area, very small shower space, normal rooms have no view. The bad: the lighting in the room is disastrous, far too white and far too light, blindingly unatmospheric, towels are paper thin and obviously years old, sometimes even completely worn.I would say the 3.6 rating is completely adequate. Next time I probably would prefer a hotel with a bit more atmosphere. But this is not a bad hotel.

    3 night stop over

    rating01 Jan 2026

The hotel was situated up off a busy main road in a nice location , the staff were all very nice , but the foyer smelt a little fusty when entering , the rooms were compact and very old fashioned , but very clean , they could have done with Coffee and tea making facilities , the view from the window was horrendous , a brick wall , and to make matters worse on the ground floor there was a skip under our window , although we were on the third floor , it was still quite smelly , Tbf the roof terrace had amazing views and was very clean and tidy but I doubt very much if you could get a space up there in the height of season . If we went to Malaga again I would book somewhere with a bar and terrace as this didn’t have one

Good base in Malaga and for the beach

    rating03 Oct 2025

Good basic hotel for base in busy Malaga , close to castle and alcazaba Right next to bullring, supermarket close and cafes Didn’t have breakfast them but go to La Canasta just a couple minutes walk away - great value Beach 10 minute max walk.Near marina and port lots of places to eat and drinkBus stops on road take you along coast and all very easy and reliable and would recommend going to other beaches than La malagueta by bus or walk along promenade El Dedo beach and area is worth going to for quiet beach and lots of fish restaurants like El Tintero - google it!
