    Booked this hotel back in May for a stay in September to walk the Caminito del Rey and turned up to find the premises “closed for renovations” (gone out of business if you ask me). No email or notification from the hotel prior to this and no refund so will be taking this up with holiday insurance. Was just browsing TA just before arriving and saw other reviews of a similar nature so it wasn’t that much of a surprise when we did arrive and managed to book another hotel called La Garganta easily enough. Do not book.

    Hotel La Posada del CondeArdalesDreadful1031265754Booked through Booking.com for 8 nights from Sept 9th to Sept 17th. On arriving found the hotel was closed for renovation. Had to find some accommodation at 4 .00pm and this proved to be difficult and time consuming. If they cannot be bothered to inform people who had booked it does not give you much confidence in any of the parts of the hotel. I would advise people to go elsewhere.Booking.com must also take some responsibility.

    Disappointed in this hotel, have had booked for months and have recently tried to get in touch re Checkin. Phoned today (due to be staying on 19th) to an answering machine message saying that the hotel is temporarily closed for reservations.

    Hotel is little bit older but still kept in good shape. If youre planning to visit Caminito and want to sleep close (in walk distance), its a good choice. Breakfasts are simple but ok, from 8:00 and consist of hot drink of choice, bread, sweet pastry(like pasteles), jamon/cheese/jam/butter). Very few restaurants, one righ in/next to hotel. Restaurants are not open all day but only lunch/dinner time. Restaurant in the hotel opens at 19:00 (I believe till 23:00).

    Hotel Mesón La Posada del Conde was a really great option for our stay the night before an early morning Caminito del Rey hike. It is extremely close to the start of the north end of the trail and gives you a great place to park. We rented 2 rooms of 2 twin beds each for 4 of us. The rooms were nice. The decor was comfortable and cozy. The beds were comfortable enough but a bit saggy. One room had hot water in the evening when we took showers. They other did not have hot water in the morning when showers were attempted. The food in the restaurant was decent, but the water wasn't very friendly. The hotel host was super informative with every detail of trail information you could possibly need. He was also friendly and seemed to enjoy assisting.
