Not perfect, but great value for money.

We had a nice stay. The location is perfect. The staff are all excellent. The administration from booking to checkout was all perfect. The bedroom was spacious, comfortable and very clean. The bathroom and shower were large and first-class. The aircon worked well. The public areas are all tastefully decorated. There is a well-stocked honesty bar by the lounge. The minibar in the room is well stocked and free - you only pay for it to be restocked. We didn't use the spa or the gym. The bottom line is we would happily return.We stayed in Room 7. The bedroom was large with a very high ceiling. It was painted in a dark green, almost grey. It was fine, but lacked any sort of character. Some paintings and colour would add considerably to the ambience. There are no tea and coffee making facilities in the room. This was not expected in a 5* hotel. But there is a kettle, so you can bring a teabag and a cup up from downstairs if you want to make a brew. That's ok, but it's not quite the same. There are also some maintenance issues. The light switch for the bathroom was loose. Our right-hand-side blackout curtain had a tear in it. A piece of chrome trim became detached from the shower tray on the first day. It was removed but not replaced. Even the name of the hotel was missing a letter (remember the title sequence to Reggie Perrin?!) - see photo.These are all small things, inconsequential and easily fixed, but they detract from a true 5* experience, if that's what you want. There are only 2 other 5* hotels in Mahon. Both of the others have more charm; but are more expensive. As always, the trick is to book the hotel that best matches what you want and how much you want to pay.

Lovely small hotel in the centre of Mahon. Charming staff, elegant room with everything you could wish for including a complimentary minibar. Would definitely stay again next time in Mahón.

Fabulous hotel with fantastic staff. The hotel is superbly located a 5 minute walk to the centre. Very friendly staff who couldn’t do enough for you. Our room was a great size, bed, dressing area, bathroom with a huge shower and copious amounts of hot water, we also had a covered terrace with a seating area. Bed very comfortable and a pillow menu! Hotel is spotlessly clean. It has a small gym and spa area and an outdoor plunge pool with deck chairs. Breakfasts were delightful, fruit, yoghurts, cold meats and cheeses, croissants, pastries and bread rolls. Lots of hot food choices which were freshly cooked to order. Throughout the day there were small cakes and fruit left for guests to enjoy with free flowing coffee and tea. Also an “honesty bar” with every drink you could think of. We couldn’t fault anything during our week and can’t wait to return next year! Thank you to everyone who made our stay so enjoyable!

An amazing character city centre hotel with the advantage of a pool and relaxing garden space.We spent four nights here and found the location superb.Beautiful room at the front of the hotel in a quiet street.The staff were superb and obviously very proud of their hotel.It is beautifully kept and immaculately clean throughout.The breakfasts were first class with a large selection of freshly cooked dishes using quality produce.We would have no hesitation in recommending the hotel and would definitely stay again.Coffee,fruit and pastries are available throughout the day which is a very nice touch.Don’t look elsewhere as this hotel ticks all the boxes.
