  Beautiful Cala Llonga hotel

  What a gem of a place. We had seen this small hotel when staying in a Villa in Cala Llonga some years ago and as we love to be near Mahón and the harbour we decided to try it out. Booked for 9 nights b&b im September. We checked in, reception staff really friendly and efficient. The manager of the hotel greeted us and introduced us to staff. The receptionist asked the time of our return flight and as it was early morning said he would arrange for us to have a takeaway breakfast on departure. Our apartment was in the most wonderful position overlooking the bay and we spent many happy hours watching the ships and boats going in and out. The apartment was immaculately clean and fresh, a huge and comfortable bed, lovely balcony and basic cooking facilities provided. Useful fridge and microwave, lovely double shower. Housekeeping daily, the staff were lovely and always greeted you with a smile. We ate in the restaurant on a few evenings. Generous portions of lovely food despite it being a limited menu. Breakfast was lovely and fresh, loads of choice of continental options and cooked food. Drinks very reasonably priced for a hotel as was the food options. We booked a takeaway picnic one day and it was a great selection of salads and sandwich to take out for the day. You can also have the restaurants food to takeaway to your apartment. The sunloungers were never crowded, most of the time we were the only ones around the pool. There are two pools, not massive but adequate to cool off in. All the communal areas are spotlessly clean, we even saw the cleaning staff cleaning the lifts one morning and general maintenance and painting going on around the complex. They really take pride in keeping the place top notch. On checking out our takeaway breakfast was waiting for us, I honestly didn't expect them to remember. There is plenty of car parking and lifts for easy access to the apartments and restaurant. We absolutely loved our stay and didn't want to leave. Helped by the perfect weather we had a wonderful time and thoroughly recommend this beautiful hotel.

  Left restaurant in tears

  The room was decent. The lady who checked us in was lovely. But when we tried to eat in the restaurant, the only place to eat without spending €20 each way on a taxi, it all went wrong. We had emailed weeks before checking my medical dietary requirements could be taken into account, but when the waitress came and I asked which of the main meals I could eat, she said: ‘you can read’. I asked about whether the ingredients might be in sauces. This seemed unacceptable to her, and she quite aggressively said that she couldn’t check all the meals with the kitchen, and to pick one for her to check. Fine, I guess, I looked back to the menu, feeling pretty upset. It got worse from here, with her loudly berating me with menu options as if I were a small child, whilst I was trying to see which were definitely unsafe to eat. After about ten seconds of this she stormed off for no reason, and despite my best efforts I ran out of the restaurant in tears. Having to spend €40 on taxis to the local Lidl and then cook dinner in the little kitchenette was not exactly how I thought I’d spend the first night of my romantic holiday with my husband. But then vomiting for two days having eaten the wrong thing would also have been not ideal. Frankly, it spoiled the whole holiday, as I ended up making my own food for the whole trip in fear. No nice meals our for us. Suffice it to stay we won’t be staying here again.   Amazing hotel let down by rude, unhelpful staff. Unfortunately our flight was cancelled and we got put at this hotel. We arrived around midnight with two young kids to be met with staff who gave off the impression they did not want us there. I completely get that it wasn’t something they were expecting but it also wasn’t a pleasant time for us either. The rudeness continued at breakfast where two staff members just kept looking at us. One of them asked our room number, never spoke to us again just to her colleague in Spanish.There wasn’t much on offer for breakfast. I also went to fill my daughter’s drink bottle with water and was told if I wanted to do that I would need to buy a bottle instead. So I got two cups of water and filled it up that way. How ridiculous if the water is there to drink. The good parts are; the hotel really is lovely. The rooms are a really decent size and the views are fab! The grounds also seemed very well kept. It’s a real shame for our experience as without the rudeness we experienced we would have very much thought about coming back here.   Stunning!

  What a magical place! Very friendly staff, the rooms are beautiful and clean and the sea view is absolutely breathtaking. The breakfast buffet has a nice variety of foods and they’re all delicious. The restaurant inside the building is also very convenient, they have various dishes such as tapas, salads, burgers, pastas and pizzas. Our flight back home was very early so we didn’t have the chance to go to the breakfast buffet, so they prepared us a basket with a full breakfast. The service was free and it was very appreciated. Definitely would recommend this place.   We discovered this gem of a hotel several years ago , without doubt it is one of the best hotels on Menorca offering friendly attentive service to its guests. The restaurant serves a delicious breakfast. Beautiful food and drinks from a well stocked bar are available all day until late evening .The rooms large extremely clean cool, fresh and tastefully decorated with an apartment like feel …fridge , microwave and hob …. and a balcony with amazing views.The staff friendly, attentive nothing is too much trouble. 5 stars in my opinion.
