TLDR: terrible apartment, okayish amenities, great beach.

    rating18 Aug 2026

TLDR: terrible apartment, okayish amenities, great beach. Arrival:We arrived on a Sunday afternoon, one person was manning the check-in desk and he was so busy having a long conversation with someone that we waited twenty minutes.Apartment:Upon being given the key to our apartment and getting inside I was so immediately dissappointed I apologised to my family for booking the place. It was a two bed apartment so tiny and bare it looked like a two star youth hostel. Paint worn through and peeling, tiles cracked, chairs rickety and about to fall apart. The walls were also paper thin, which led to us being woken up repeatedly by people tramping past, slamming doors, and kids ringing doorbells constantly to annoy their parents. Also the WiFi kept dropping in and out.The kitchen had a kettle (didn't work), a toaster that smoked (didn't use it for fear of setting off an alarm), two cooking knives (both blunt as rocks), and a fridge that didn't get cold properly. The bathroom was miniscule. So miniscule that the half size bath wasn't easily accessible due to the shower screen, which was part blocked by the toilet.Ultimately, the only positives of the apartment were that it was clean and had good AC. Also, they quickly replaced the broken kettle.Amenities:There were several pools which were clean and kid friendly. Only complaint was the weird club rave/children's music combo DJ at the biggest pool. But that wasn't bad, just bizarre. The small bar onsite was fine, if you're okay waiting an hour for two sandwiches and two glasses of orange juice, despite it not even being busy. I swear I almost gave it up as a loss and walked away. Finally, the cleaning staff...clearly good at cleaning (one of the few positives), but do they have to throw the dirty laundry sacks from the second floor balconies??? I'm amazed they haven't taken out a child.Beach:Fantastic, perfect, awesome. Honestly a gorgeous beach, well maintained and perfect for children. The bay is so shallow you can walk out fifty metres and still touch the bottom (as a tall adult). The water was warm and calm. We spent literal hours there everyday. Wider location:Several supermarkets with limited selections and dubious produce. A couple of restaurants (with several apparently abandoned), all of which did good food and great sangrea.Largely the whole complex gave off a part derelict vibe. It took us a while to figure it out, but it sort of feels like they started laying things out and ran out of money to finish it. They're adding new things here and there, but some serious renovations are needed.

    Quiet, but enjoyable family holiday

    rating21 Jul 2026

Firstly, I'd like to state that we had a great time. It was me, my partner, and our two kids, aged 2 and 6.Starting with the positives, the pool area was lovely, with no fighting for sunbeds, and the slides were great fun. The snack bar was lovely and reasonably priced. The apartments are big, clean, and have fans and air conditioning.Next isn't really negatives, just things to note that we wish we'd known before choosing this hotel. It is in the middle of nowhere. There are five restaurants within walking distance, although one is only accessible via lots of steps. Honestly, the majority of them weren't very welcoming. On that note, it is very hilly with lots of steps, making it a bit tricky with a pram. The hotel itself has ramps, so you can get around, but you might have to take the long way. There are not many umbrellas around the pool, only two by the pool with the slides. The hotel itself doesn't have any entertainment or a supermarket, but you can use the sister hotel, Sol Parc, which is a 5-minute walk away. This hotel has a supermarket, kids' club, entertainment throughout the day and at night (although it wasn't in English), a splash park, more water slides, access to the beach, and a buffet restaurant.Overall, we had a very positive experience, but 1 week was definitely long enough.

Very dated, lack of facilities, expensive

    rating03 Sept 2025

This was a very late booking with Jet2 holidays. Only 1 room left and was self-catering only. Had visited before about 35 years ago with children and returned with grown up daughter and grandchildren. Was surprised to see little had changed. Children loved the pools and nearby beach. Rooms are dated but comfortable. There was a rain storm one afternoon and water poured in through the door, flooded the floor up to kitchen area and then out of the balcony door. Fortunately there is a mop and bucket in the kitchen which we used to mop up 3 buckets of water and stopped the water flow with towels. The marks up to 4” 100mm on the dining table legs suggested this was a regular occurrence. I went own to reception to report the incident and found staff bare footed doing a similar mopping. “Yes, when it rains in Menorca it can be heavy” I was told. Given more towels and told housekeeping would be requested to help. The resort was very quiet, we found just 5 nearby restaurants and a couple more on the beach front, we tried just 3 of them and food was adequate but expensive. We took a taxi to nearby Arenal and found some much better restaurants. Even taking taxi fare into account it was still a lot cheaper than eating locally. There are 2 supermarkets and 1 bakery close by and again prices higher than expected, taking advantage of the monopoly situation. Was told the nearby hotel could be used for breakfast but was only open 0800 to 1000 and found it to be very busy. There is a very small café close to reception but opening hours are short. 1 Pizza and 2 orange juices about 20 Euros. The 2 pools are well used; the children especially liked the one with the water slides. There are ample sun loungers but most need the suspension cord replacing as they sag very badly and are very uncomfortable.Reception is open 24 hours and staffs are always very friendly and helpful. Would we return or recommend this establishment, probably not.

Nice pools but disappointed the bar closed at 5pm.

    rating16 Aug 2025

The reception staff were very friendly and helpful on arrival and throughout our stay. The accommodation was ok but very outdated. We were fully self catering yet had no oven. The only restaurant onsite was a small bar selling light lunches and snacks, disappointed that it closed at 5pm, which meant there was nowhere to buy a drink or ice cream after that time. Such a shame: this definitely requires improvement for a self catering holiday. It is a very secluded resort, with only a handful of restaurants with about a 15 minute walk away. We took a taxi 3 of the nights, into Arenal d’en Castell, as it’s only a 7 minute taxi ride, with a wide choice of restaurants with more atmosphere. That said, the pools were great and the beach was lovely (10 minute walk away). Although we had a nice holiday, We definitely wont be returning here.

    Plays Parc apartments

    rating01 Aug 2025

We are just back from a 7 night stay at Playa Parc as a family of 5. We booked as a last minute holiday and to be honest was one of the cheapest deals we could get for a family of 5. I knew when booking it wasn’t going to be luxury, closer to the holiday panic sets in and when I start looking for reviews of this hotel I come across a view poor reviews. I did email the hotel my concerns and got a reply that eased my anxiety. When we arrived we were met by a lovely cheery receptionist and once again she put my concerns at ease. Our room was a ground floor garden view, yes it was out of date decor but very spacious, with two double rooms, a living area with a pull out bed and sofa bed, a kitchen with kettle, toaster, microwave, a two ring hob and all the utensils you need. A bathroom with bath and overhead shower and hair dryer. The beds and pillows were really comfortable and the apartment has air conditioning at no extra cost. The pool area didn’t open until 10am and there was never any rush for sun loungers. The hotel also had a mini play park, a pool table and table tennis. As quests you can use the facilities at their sister hotel Sol parc, with a walkway to the beautiful beach from this hotel and it also has a mini supermarket. This hotel had evening entertainment for children but was in Spanish and French. The resort itself is extremely quiet with only a handful of restaurants and one other small supermarket on the Main Street. We ate in Alexanca restaurant 6 nights out of 7, it had a mini play area for kids, the food was lovely and staff very friendly. We will definitely be back to Menorca and Playa Parc but next time we will hire a car to visit more of the beautiful island.
