  Overall good but needs some TLC

  I used to go to this hotel every year as a child so when I decided to go on a solo holiday (now in my 30’s) for a few days I was excited to go back! I want to start by saying I had a lovely time and always felt safe. However, the rooms are exactly the same from 15+ years ago and need some major TLC. I had a sunset view room which gave me a lovely view of the sunset, I enjoyed this every evening! The bed was really hard and uncomfortable. Also, the air con didn’t work and I was left with a rusty ceiling fan. Breakfast was enjoyable (especially the doughnuts) but the dinner was awful. All the food was cold, very salty and didn’t taste nice at all. I ate out for the rest of my stay. The best bit about this hotel is the beach. It is amazing, clear blue water and soft sand. I enjoyed the beach bars for lunch everyday (additional cost) also the sun loungers are €15 per day. Son Bou isn’t a lively area with a lot of closed down shops but there is a few restaurants, bars and a supermarket. Overall, it was sad to see how the hotel is now compared to what it used to be but I had a lovely 4 days relaxing in the sun on the beach with a room that was clean and a nice Italian restaurant just across the road. I probably wouldn’t go back to this hotel but would go back to Son Bou just for the beach.

  Just returned from a fantastic 7 nights at this wonderful hotel.First the good points.No nonsense friendly check in.Room as you would expect. Everything in place for a couple cleaned everyday. Fridge in room safety deposit box for a small fee. No kettle unless you hire. Hey ho not the end of the world.Our balcony from floor 5 looking over the best sea view i have ever seen from a hotel balcony. Panoramic with the best sunsets i have ever seen. This alone was worth the money.Food hall. Me loving my food plenty of options every night. The wife being a parky eater. Limited but that's the way it is at every hotel. Learn to love your food people. As for reviews saying food is cold. I saw many people taking an age to put foods on plate and walk around. Putting it on table then going for bread. Guess what your foods went cold!Bar service very good.Limited choice of drinks but enough for what we wanted.Entertainment. Some nights what we like. Singers Magic show Dancing etc. Or Bingo quiz nights which allowed us a quiet drink overlooking the pool or a visit to the night life of Son Bou.Pool fantastic. Easy access in many places and the set up is holiday heaven. Cold? Just like any pool in the world when you step in it is not suited to body temperature. If it was it would be too hot. Just get in, after a minute you will be fine.Son Bou the resort. Small with enough bars restaurants and shops to keep you amused. If you like lots of variety maybe not for you. This is a laid back resort.Beach brilliant. Sandy with a gradually sloping walk into the water. You can be 50+ yards out and still be up to your waist. 3 fantastic beach bars.For the more adventurous you can walk along the beach to San Tomas.Now the bad points. Mmmmm if i think of any i'll let you know.All in all a wonderful holiday with everything i hoped and more.Looking forward to return someday soon.

  Cheap hotel and feels like it

  Not impressed; the restaurant and food quality was akin to a poor 60s cafeteria with rude staff, hardly surprising when there are 600 rooms, potentially 1000 guests to cater for. Rooms adequate but showing their age Housekeeping was excellent as were reception staff. Lack of in room information as to what “entertainment “ etc was available. Location wise - beautiful sea views with a soft sandy beach - nudist areas not marked so be prepared..Minimal bus service necessitating at least one change of route to get anywhere so a car is desirable to get around.

  Just returned from another very enjoyable holiday at Sol Milanos Pinguinos. We travelled with Jet2 holidays. Although arriving early at 12.00 our room was ready for us. We were all inclusive so lunch at 13.00 and on the beach by 14.00. The hotel is on the beach which also has three beach bars. There are also beds availaible although a little pricey at 20eu for two beds and a parasol.The hotel is clean, tidy and well appointed. Take time to try a couple of Spanish words with the staff who appreciate the effort and will happily chat with you. Food is typical for Buffet style with a good selection available, there is also show cooking of meat and fish lunchtime and in the evening. Bread is baked on site and is not to be missed. There is a small bar in the dining room which has amazing views or a bigger bar which caters for the pool area and theatre.Whilst the rooms are on the smaller side they have all that you need and most have balconies with amazing sea views. The sunsets from here are very special.The Spanish love this Hotel which makes for a good mix. There were lots of card and games playing in the evening as well as a show at 21.30 every night.This Hotel offers good value and a great location. Son Bou is a lovely resort with lots of Restaurants to eat out at.This was our second stay here and have already booked to return next year.

  Superb hotel

  This hotel is far better than the 3 star. Immaculate, rooms, public areas, gardens all very clean and well presented. Beautiful pool area, location second to none, so nice to have such a stunning sea view. Food what you expect from an all inclusive. Only two minor faults, would be nice to have tea and coffee available at lunch and dinner as well as breakfast. The bar gets very busy with long queues, mostly because people are ordering complicated coffees, a separate queue for coffee would be good. Also in a double room it would be nice to have two tub chairs so both occupants could relax. Overall an excellent hotel which should be at least 4.5 stars. We enjoyed our stay very much, I was taken ill with a chest infection and reception got a doctor to see me very quickly.
