  This is a lovely hotel with many positives. The communal areas, including reception, the restaurant and bars, pool etc are great - modern, well designed, spotlessly clean and well maintained. The food was good and we particularly enjoyed 'Spanish Night'. We were not all-inclusive but found food and drinks to be very reasonably priced. The location of the hotel is great, away from the hustle and bustle so very quiet and peaceful, but with a fantastic bus service down into Son Bou and its wonderful beach, with the buses running like clockwork. Very importantly, the staff were, without exception, delightful - warm, friendly and welcoming throughout our stay. All the above would deserve 5 stars, but we were disappointed with the bedroom we were allocated. It was not one of the modernised ones, and it was really quite basic and dated - a sharp contrast to the rest of the hotel. Think 1980s vibes. To be fair, the bed was very comfortable, the shower was good and it was all spotlessly clean, but there were absolutely no little 'extras' - and no kettle with tea or coffee! We were given a kettle when we asked for one but had to provide our own teabags. This was disappointing. So 3 stars for the bedroom, leaving a compromise of 4 overall. If you're not too worried about your bedroom (or happy to pay quite a lot more for a modernised one) and more interested in the rest of the amenities and facilities. then we would definitely recommend this lovely place.   Hotel Valentin Son Bou is honestly one of the best hotels I’ve ever stayed in. From the moment we arrived, everything was fantastic.My room was lovely, as were the apartments my friends stayed in. The hotel facilities were absolutely spotless, and the food was very good. However, the pool bar deserves a special mention — the food there was some of the best pool bar food I’ve ever had!Evening entertainment again was varied and polished. What really stood out for myself and our group were the staff. They were absolutely wonderful, friendly and attentive. You could genuinely tell that they are well looked after and appreciated by the hotel, and that really showed in the way they looked after the guests.The only slight downside is that the hotel is at the top of a winding road, but this really wasn’t a problem as the hotel runs a minibus every half an hour to the beach and shops, which makes getting around very easy. May be difficult for someone liking to go out with mobility issues. Not a fault of the hotel though.The transfer time from the airport was also fantastic — only around 20 minutes, which is a huge bonus.We loved the hotel so much that I actually made a point of finding the hotel manager personally so I could compliment him and tell him just how wonderful his staff were. I think that says everything!We absolutely loved our stay and would highly recommend Hotel Valentin Son Bou. We’ll definitely be back!   Lovely hotel

  Just returned from a weeks stay here. The hotel is very clean. We stayed in an apartment as we had half board. We noticed that most people were all inc. whilst we had the bus service that took you down to the beach and a few shops & bars, the service had a break at lunchtime and stopped after 8 so basically you are better off being all inc as you were mainly at the hotel. Its a steep hilly walk. The pool bar at lunchtime served lovely food, massive portions so we had no complaints. We are not drinkers anyway but all inc would be better here to be honest. The apartment was spacious, clean & quiet, we were in the last block F. Bathroom was looking a bit tired as was the kitchen but they are refurbishing soon so i assume will be all good soon. They topped up bottles of water daily in the fridge which was a bonus. Supplied slippers & robes too. The grounds were spotless and well maintained. Pools were clean. The restaurant could be chaotic at times but the food was nice, no complaints there. We had bottled water with our dinner,this was €2.90. Staff were super friendly. The entertainment was good, especially the male singer, he had a lot of people up dancing. We took the bus to Mahon one day as was cloudy. Bus stop just outside the hotel. €2.65 each. Worth a visit there, nice shops & cute little streets. The beach is lovely although to use the beds is €25 for the day! We just used to get the free shuttle bus after brekkie for a walk, grab an ice cream & get the bus back. Although be aware there is a part of the beach at one end that has a few nudists!!!   This hotel is situated at the top of a very steep hill and a good 20 minute walk (if you are reasonably fit) to the town. Although there is a courtesy bus to the beach it finishes at 8pm every evening. On arrival we thought what a lovely hotel with very helpful reception staff. However it appears you only get to stay in the hotel if you are all inclusive or pay a-lot more. We were half board and allocated an apartment which weren't the best. Ours was dated with loose tiles on the floor and an awful smell from the drain in the bathroom., this was worse if you put water down the sink after cleaning cups or just rinsing out a glass. The restaurant was your usual buffet and a free for all, people do not like queuing and just barge in front. We felt the timing of the evening meal could do with being a bit earlier, as it was 7-930, lots of hungry children shouting and sometimes felt very noisy. The food in the buffet was average and they really need to sort out the amount of flies and the queuing system around the various dishes. Once you have taken your food back to the table it was almost cold! Another gripe is that you are not even allowed to have tap water with your meal unless you are all inclusive or pay for it! As we did not want to remain cut off from civilisation all week we hired a car for a few days which worked out well as the car parking facilities are excellent .   Exceptional Hotel and Value for Money.

  Third time at the hotel. Third time I have left a review. For value for money it just can’t be beaten. Food, staff, cleanliness all 10/10. Food at Es Far pool bar is exceptional quality. First all inclusive in this price range where we have chosen off a menu. We would like to try somewhere different but this place pulls us back all the time. That must be a compliment to the staff.
