  Disappointed!

  A fantastic location, architecturally flawed! We have just stayed at this hotel twice in a week as it was mid point for our travels. We love the Paradors but this one was super disappointing. The rooms are big with a dark dingy feeling, the windows are so small it’s incredible with the view available that the tiniest of windows have been installed in a modern hotel. The bathrooms are dark, the water pressure is terrible and the shower is an over bath hand held unit. The worst part is the food options, the main restaurant opens at 8.30pm, our first night we didn’t eat until 10pm despite being seated at 8.30pm, 2 members of staff serving the entire restaurant, come one hotel manager this is basic, I’ve worked in hotels and I was appalled, I really felt for the staff. Our second night a week later we chose to eat in the bar/ cafe as we could eat slightly earlier, another grand disaster, one member of staff taking and serving drink orders as well as taking food orders and serving food. A full bar/ cafe with one staff member, completely unacceptable. We are super disappointed with this parador and as Spanish residents would not recommend this hotel to anyone.   Excellent parador, great shower but not enough water pressure. Great food and staff. Delightful swimming pool, needs to open earlier in the morning.   A fabulous stay in a Castle hotel

  The Paradors of Spain always exceed expectations. This one in Lorca provided a unique setting where a modern hotel melded seamlessly into the Moorish castle. The eagle-eye view of the surrounding countryside was breathtaking. The staff was gracious and friendly, the food excellent, and the rooms quite comfortable. I’d absolutely stay here again!   The Parador is in a modern (2012) building with good facilities and fabulous views over the city. Food was excellent, with friendly staff. A pleasant experience. Be sure to follow the instructions to get to the Paradores’s and DO NOT rely on SatNav. You will end up in tiny narrow streets!
