  Good place, excellent buffet breakfast

  Hotel Albret is a bit outside of the old town, but this is rather a blessing, as over-tourism is not felt there. The walk to down-town is pleasant, and easy half-hour. While the rooms are rather standard for this category, buffet breakfast is spectacular, includes local items and very well prepared food. Unfortunately, breakfast is served in the basement of the building, thus not very inviting.

  We had a twin room (on a tour) facing the street but there was absolutely no noise. The windows were double glazed and easy to open. The room was spacious enough to open two suitcases without tripping over each other. The beds, although they seemed hard, were remarkably comfortable. The bathroom was a good size, shampoo, body wash and soap provided. Towels large and the shower over the bath was a good size, good water pressure and a welcome change. Breakfast was great. No cereal but hot choices as well as breads, hams,cheeses. Nice hot coffee that doesn’t come out of a machine. One issue was the lifts and this is just being picky. They stop at floors you didn’t request, they close VERY quickly and will continue to close even if you stand in the doorway. And they really are tiny! However would definitely recommend this hotel.

  Standard hotel with exceptionally good breakfast buffet

  If you have business to do in this part of Pamplona, Albret is a good choice. Rooms are equiped with standard features, spacious bathrooms and comfortable beds.But the best feature is the breakfast buffet with variations of bread and local food. This is highly recommended - although served in the basement, with no windows. So focus on the food!

  Room was nice and I liked the fact that the shower/tub controls were at the end of the tub opposite the showerhead. AC worked fine. Not much of a view. Rooms were clean, so no major complaint. I had no hot water one night nor the following morning. I made due as I had a lot of things to do. When I was checking out the nice clerk asked about my stay and I said it was very nice, except I didn't have hot water last night nor this morning. An officious woman came over and corrected me saying that there was hot water that morning. Clearly I had struck a nerve, but I wasn't complaining, just answering a question. Frankly, I know what water is hot and what isn't, and after running for 15 minutes this water wasn't even tepid. Since there was no one at the reception desk, I don't know why this woman felt the need to try to correct me, even tho I had been in the room and she had not.

  Excellent value, great facilities, private parking in the basement. Air con in rooms. Staff are friendly and helpful. Room facilities are superb. The city is a 30min walk and makes for great sightseeing. Definite worth a return visit.
