We have used this hotel several times over the past few years and it has been excellent. However, with a change of name (adding LUZE after hotel) comes other changes. Rooms still very clean but the restaurant quality has dropped massively. Albeit an unusual concept of a buffet kitchen i.e. pick your food from a selection of cooked foods or select raw meat, poultry or fish and have it cooked to your liking, this used to be a brilliant concept that worked well. Pick your favourite foods, have them cooked and then select your choice of accompaniments. Even at a relatively high menu price of €21 per person it would have still represented fair value for money. But not now! Sadly, if our experience last night is anything to go by, the quality of the meats etc was poor and almost all of the selection of hot accompaniments and other available dishes were served up at tepid temperatures at best. When I mentioned this to the manager he said he was sorry but did not offer a reason as to why the dishes were cold and did not make any offer to reheat anything. Quite frankly he was much more interested in pandering to a visiting football team in another area of the restaurant. As there is no other restaurant within several miles from this place, I would seriously avoid it.

Good standard of room with all the facilities you would expect. Bathrooms are clean and functional and the overall experience was very good. The all you can eat evening meal and breakfast are tremendous value with a very wide range of faire.

We were there last week for 1 night, enroute to France. Stayed there before and it was a good experience. This time was also very pleasant. The room was clean and tastefully redecorated. The bed was superbly comfrotable. They provided a bed for dogs and a bowl. Shower was fantastic and the overall hotel was great. We went to the buffet at night and was blown away for the amazing food selection with meats, seafood and vegetables cooked to perfection. Service was very good throughout. However, their breakfast was very disappointing with cold fried eggs, cold bacon and TBH almost everything was awful. I only had a ham sandwich and some iuice as looking at the food was already depressing. What a big contrast. It was a waste of money really. We would definitely go back as the hotel is a great choice but perhaps without breakfast.

A very pleasant stay

Unfortunately we only stayed for one night whilst on our journey to Spain. A warm welcome was given by the receptionist and we were directed to our bedroom. What a luxury. A big room with a balcony, superb bathroom and very comfortable bed. It cost a little more than some hotels but it was worth it. We can thoroughly recommend this hotel.

Excellent for a nights stopover to and from ferries

Ideal for the routes to and from Santander/Bilbao ferries, not far from the main road, in a quiet area and ample parking (some under shade). The receptionist was pleasant although didn’t speak English and we speak very little Spanish but Google translate ensured we all understood each other and check in went smoothly. We had booked two deluxe rooms and were not disappointed, they were spacious, modern, comfortable and clean. The public areas are bright and welcoming and the bar/snack counter is well stocked and reasonably priced. We went into the buffet restaurant for evening meal and breakfast, both of which gave ample choice and good quality, again fairly well priced. I would definitely use this hotel again, in fact we had booked a different hotel for our return leg and tried to change to this one after our stay but it was already booked.
