  Historical palacio in need of a facelift

  We stayed here for 1 night while walking the Camino de Santiago.Pluses:1. Perfect location, across from the ruins of San Pedro, and walking distance to all shops and restaurants.2. Very kind staff3. Refrigerator in the room4. Very historical, medieval settingMinuses:1. Desperately in need of a remodel/refurb- while the exterior and lobby still very much say "medieval palacio," the rooms are tired and 1980s. There's a landline phone in the toilet! The outlets are hidden, back from an era where they were an eyesore. Our comforter was ripped.2. Too expensive, given the state of the rooms.3. Almost no outlets.I would recommend a lower-priced hostal over this hotel.

  On arrival we checked in relatively easily. The welcome you receive on arrival says a lot about a hotel, and a smile would go a long way!! Yes there is a job to be done, but a personal touch with a hello or welcome would have been well received.There is an atmosphere in this hotel, it looks very old and is quite well maintained although is beginning to look like it might need updating. For example. The PowerPoint wasnt completely attached to the wall, so we didnt use it.

  Accomodation very comfortable. Staff friendly.However food was very very poor. We had evening meal in bar area. Food cool. No vegetarian options available on the Menu del día. Breakfast equally poor. No fruit and limited fresh fruit or bread rolls. Overall I was very disappointed with my stay and would recommend to anyone walking the camino have a tea break/ lunch break in Vianna & walk on to the next town for your overnight stay.

  Beautiful historic hotel with lovely high ceilings. The service was fantastic. We ate/drank in the hotel bar a number of times and the staff were engaging and incredibly efficient. The lady in reception was especially helpful. The rooms are totally appropriate with a nice bathroom.   Comfortable place to stay in Viana.

  We enjoyed the hotel and found it to be a comfortable place to stay in Viana. Our room was clean and had everything we needed, including a nice view and good WiFi.We had dinner and breakfast in the restaurant and food was just ok. But the hotel’s prices were quite reasonable, so I really shouldn’t complain.
