    Worst Camino experience

    rating01 Dec 2025

I started with my Camino Frances experience on the 8th of octobre 2025. On October 10th, I arrived in Pamplona. It was Friday afternoon; I'd actually wanted to take a day off and explore the city. But the vibe felt different... apparently, there was something going on with local singers. I didn't want an inn, but a hotel. My muscles craved a bath. Several hotels were fully booked, and finally, Maisonnave had room. I paid 160 euros for a simple hotel room for one night. It was outrageous, especially since the air conditioning didn't work. In other words: the price-quality ratio is shockingly poor and completely lacking. My worst experience on the entire Camino!

Great location in the old town

    rating30 Aug 2025

We found this hotel to be so central to the old town. It’s in a perfect location. Our room was on the first floor with the window above the outdoor seating for the bar downstairs. We enjoyed the sounds of the city drifting up. Great buzz but others triggered by noise may find it loud and annoying. The internal rooms (we were given one of these first but got an upgrade) feel very claustrophobic. Ours had a view of an internal wall and I wasn’t happy with it. It was dark and almost felt like a prison cell!! Don’t stay if you’re places in one of these. There is a sauna you need to reserve but no additional charge. Staff are helpful at reception and the selling point as well as the location is the lively hotel pintxo bar. Shout out to two of the bar staff! We didn’t get their names but one was a young Ukrainian woman and a nice young man from Venezuela. We enjoyed our chat with them!

    Quiet Room Despite Crowds Outside

    rating10 Jul 2025

Best of all this hotel offered a quiet room in the middle of San Fermin Festival. It was also clean & comfortable. However mine was a bit small. The location is great & lots of choices for dining. The biggest downside was the crowds in front of the hotel. With 2 bars opening on the street people congregated in dense mobs at all hours making it very difficult to get in and out.

    Would highly recommend

Great location so central to everything, central, lovely staff, well appointed and spacious room and bathroom for two travellers. Clean and comfortable. Stayed for 1 night and did not eat there so cannot comment too much on that element..

Day 3 of Frances Way Camino

    rating08 Jun 2025

This hotel is right in the heart of the city. We arrived here on a Saturday and it was bustling with locals and tourists. The hotel room was big and spacious with a nice bath and bathroom. Check in was easy. We ate something small in the hotel bar before going out to explore the city. The hotel staff were very nice and we had a fantastic breakfast buffet the next morning to set us up for another day of walking. Would highly recommend this hotel
