Avoid August Festival weekend.

Be careful about when you stay. Firstly, parking is not easy anyway. You have 20mins to book in and unload and then find a free parking space outside the town walls. BUT if you inadvertently book the weekend in August when the Medieval Fair is on then even that is impossible and finding a parking space is a nightmare. Be prepared to arrive early and pack just an overnight bag. And the place is heaving with visitors.Other than that the Paradore is ok. Suggest going for an earlier breakfast slot as staff seemed overwhelmed by 9am and food selection needed renewing. Lift seems to have a mind of it's own - v. slow. Take note of times when cafe WILL serve food. They're linked to restaurant. And I really needed a cup of tea first thing on waking up but had to try and explain to breakfast staff how to make acceptable English Breakfast Tea without hot milk.Olite is an interesting place historically and I'm glad we stayed there but with some reservations!

A little disappointing

We stayed two nights in the Parador in June, in a “Superior Room”, as part of our trip around Navarra.The hotel has only recently re-opened after 18 months’ refurbishment, and it is a new hotel, so previous reviews no longer represent the current status.There is no parking available at the hotel, there is a 20 minute window available for parking outside the hotel for loading/unloading, enforced by cameras, but there is plenty of free parking around the area.The hotel interior is new, so in superb condition, both fixtures and fittings, and very pleasant, and is well situated in the centre of town, close to the palace and restaurants.We ate one evening in the hotel and it was up to the usual Parador standard, choice good, food very good and reasonably priced.Breakfast was in the dining room, by sitting, and again, well in line with Parador standards.The one down side was our room (room 102), which was small, and dark, well below the standard we have come to expect for a Parador Superior room, which sadly removes 2 stars from our rating. Such a Great Eperience

We had a wonderful experience during our one night stay, which also was the parador's last day for the season. (They mentioned that they will be closing for renovations for the next 1-2 years.) The castle is completely charming and our room did not disappoint either. It was spacious, clean, and decorated in a style which I would describe as old Spanish charm and warmth. Our room included a lovely view as well. The staff was friendly and welcoming. We had our dinner at the restaurant, which I would recommend also. Our server was helpful and accommodating considering my poor Spanish language skills. I practiced enough ahead of time to be able to ask for her help in suggesting dinner, which she did.

We have stayed prior, this is a fabulous place. The only issue was we had a 9.30 breakfast and there was little left to choose.

Terrible experience

We wanted to eat in the restaurant terrible expiernce. We thought at leat they would speak English just basci knowledge. At first very friendly, but not everything on the menu available then it got complicated. So we left. Terible service for such a restaurant.
