Not a great stay
20 Jul 2026
Absolute farce. I had a gf person in my party. They chose the Vietnamese prawns I got 3 diffrent answers to if they contained gluten. The menu said no. As a chef of a hotel, this non knowlage is also illegal and potentially could kill someone . if my staff were as incompetent as this I wouldn’t have kept my job at my hotel. As for the dessert. It was terrible it was blown and shameful. Even while you have a first class patisserie next door. I booked this hotel on other people’s reviews on here. The air conditioning in the bedroom is woefully. The food is sub standard I has a rib eye steak with fries and salad. I has a thin rib (whole cut) thin that was ok but 16 fries and a 1/4 pepper as salad . Bar man was first class. Got food put on table that wasn’t ordered and charged for it. Would I stay and eat again. NO Thanks Tony

An odd name but totally acceptable

Quite why they would call this place the old castle is beyond me - it is in what looks like an apartment complex. But with decent (paid) underground parking and a fairly central location, it is good for a night or so. The rooms are largish for the price and clean, the bathroom a good size, and the breakfast a very decent one. In terms of value for money, it is a good bet - no character as such (and no old castle!) but very comfortable and well priced.

Stopover en route to Portugal
29 Apr 2019
Pleased to find this hotel as dog friendly lodgings are not common in Spain. However dogs are not allowed in the public areas so be prepared to eat and drink outside. This is not a hardship as there are tapas bars nearby in this lovely town. Only problem we had was getting the car back in the morning. The underground car park is VERY secure and the key they gave me at reception would not work to open the big steel grill. I think you will enjoy your stay here.

Small Basic Room

This is a clean, basic European business hotel located a 15 minute walk from the train station. Parking in their underground garage can be a hassle since they have only 2 key fobs to open the gate which must be returned to the front desk after use. An adjoining restaurant/bar and delicious bakery are conveniently located. It's a couple of blocks from here to walk around the main pedestrian street (Calle Mayor Principal) for other shopping and dining options. They offer free wireless internet but I could only connect reliably in the lobby, not in my room on the third floor. Don't plan on sleeping late, the nearby church bell will wake you.
