Cheap hotel convenient to use Vigo Guixar train station

    rating14 Oct 2018

This is a hotel for just sleep and go. It's near the main Vigo train station (Guixar) and the prices are not expensive, which makes it a good option for a trip connection at Vigo. The hotel is rather basic, and a bit outdated (needing a refurbish and some bathroom maintenance). But just for one night, it's a perfect value for money option.Front-desk staff were efficient and polite, but not very friendly. Wifi didn't work that well (low signal). There are some nice restaurants nearby that we can use. The hotel also doesn't offer breakfast.

Just average, you might want a bit closer to the harbour / Center

    rating23 Jul 2017

No outstanding features, employees not friendly but not unfriendly, no atmosphere, nothing outstanding.`Rooms OK. Quiet, clean. Not far from both train stations, but the Ala station entails some walking UP. Cafeteria downstairs OK for breakfast, and much friendlier. You have to go towards the harbour to find the nicest restaurants, so I'd advise staying there.

Good value and convenient to Vigo Guixar

Close to the Renfe station, budget friendly and clean. Fairly modern and everything works. Front desk stays open late. Staff is efficient, and if not the friendliest, at least they aren't rude. We spent one night in order to change trains while returning to Spain from Portugal.

Just a bed to sleep and go

Very cheap hotel, and that's it. Don't expect more. Honestly, I would advise to spend 10e more and go elsewhere but if you want the lest expensive that you can get, and nothing else, go for it. The cafeteria in front is nice for breakfast.

    a few days away

    rating10 Aug 2014

Whilst on holiday in Spain with my 'in laws' in March, we decided we were going to have a few days away on our own. We got the train to Vigo and wandered around keeping an eye open for somewhere to stay for a few days. It was 'siesta' time so was very quiet, and we came across the Hotel Canaima. Even though it was a fiesta weekend we were able to get a room. The place was extremely good, spotless and comfortable, and very cheap!. I cost us 35 euros a night for the room, although I imagine it would be a lot more in the 'season'. It was very convenient for both the town and the port, there were plenty of taxi ranks outside (very reasonable prices) and many local restaurants to choose from which were also very good. We didn't actually eat in the hotel, although they had what looked to be a very nice restaurant. We went across the road for breakfast in the sun under the camellia trees. We shall certainly stay there again if we ever manage to return to Vigo, and would not hesitate to recommend it. You do need to speak at least SOME Spanish in Vigo though. It was a wonderful few days and we are looking forward to when we can go again.
