Location

Quietly situated, this hotel lies by the sea on the island of La Toja. It is just 300 m to the nearest beach and 1.5 km to the resort centre. Public transport network links are to be found just a short walk away, lying 1.5 km from the hotel.

    Stay and you won't want to go home!!

    Absolutely phenomenon stay in this Hotel. We came for 1 night and stayed 2 extra missing a flight for the luxury. Excellent food, staff, service, rooms, pools indoor and outdoor. Phenomenonal views of the area. Close to local tourist attractions. 1 of the nicest places we've stayed at very reasonable prices. Would highly recommend a stay at this fabulous hotel.     wonderful stay on a stunning island

    This stay was one of nostalgia as I had been to La Toja as a child in the 1960's. The Louxo hotel was not even built then! The island is every bit as beautiful as I remembered it and the hotel is in a wonderful location. We stayed in a room on the first floor with a side view of the water and it was perfect. Very spacious and well appointed with a sofa and big picture windows that slide open. (No balconies but not an issue at all) The bathroom was modern and also very spacious with huge walk in shower. We booked half board which was tremendous value and the restaurant is overlooking the water with stunning views and lots of wildlife to see. We spotted dolphins! The 3 course menu included good choices as well as water, wine and coffee. Highly recommend staying here. We did have to pay to use the thalassotherapy pool but it was worth it. It's as warm as a bath and has lots of jets and fountains to ease muscles and relax. Bathrobes and towels are supplied, but bring a hat to wear as it's obligatory for everyone. Staff were all very pleasant throughout the hotel and the place is spotlessly clean everywhere. Within walking distance of O Grove town across the bridge and on La Toja there is a museum telling the history of the soap factory and a shop selling the La Toja brands. Also a beautiful shell covered church and the authorised sea shell jewellery sellers with their stalls.     This hotel a 4 star, offers spectacular views to the Riada, you feel the nature and the strong wind, very well located, the hotel offers all kind of services, Spa and beautiful walks to island of Louxo.     Lovely hotel

    PlusesWe stayed a wonderful four weeks in this lovely hotel from late July to late August 2022 , using it as a home base for extensive travel around western Galicia. Staff were very responsive and helpful. No request was too much trouble for them. Excellent estuary views on the side facing the ria and partial estuary views on side facing car park.Good, varied breakfast available. Attractive bar with light meals inside facing car park at back of hotel. Main restaurant and Bistro face the ria. Rooms comfortable and pleasant with excellent views from 'internal' glazed balcony with wall-to-wall picture windows. Outdoor pool area facing the ria was well tended with different seating areas. It opens late and closes late by UK standards as it stays light until late in this part of Spain. Bar service available round the pool. Generally, cleaning was good throughout. Staff wore masks. MinusIndoor Spa pool was payment only. I did not use ot as tge weatger was mostly very goid so used tge putdoor pool. It looked pleasant. Was not very big and every time I asked the price at the Spa reception I was told a different answer. It might have been a language problem. I could not see the price prominently displayed but perhaps it was written somewhere in Spanish. Reception had told me to ask at the Spa reception. The dining tables by the pool are for the restaurant menu only at lunchtime. No pool snacks available. However, bar service is available round the pool and there were two or three bar tables with seating next to the ria. Personally, I wore a mask in the breakfast room when not eating. Very few people did so aart from tge staff. I would have liked to see more bottles of alcogel around and disposable gloves to wear at the buffet for handling implements. Everytime I took something from the buffet I popped out to use alcogel or wash my hands before eating. There was no real outdoor area to take breakfast so I opened one of the picture windows a little near me each time to get some fresh air. This contrasted with the situation at the Makedonia Palace Hotel in Thessaloniki where we had stayed recently and where there was a bottle of alcogel on each table and guests had to wear masks and disposable gloves at the buffet.     Maybe we picked the right time (March) ..... maybe there not a lot of guests at all .... maybe because we stayed just for one nightBut it was great - the rooms were amazing - we had seaview as well - so nice.Bathrooms great - beds supercompfy - TV good - Internet goodBreakfast super excellentIn our opinion you would deserve a 5 star .....
