Location

This is a warm and welcoming hotel located in the idyllic ria of Pontevedra, in an exceptional setting known for its beauty and proximity to the main cities of Galicia. It is 150 m from the beach, about 1.5 km from the town centre of the fishing town Combarro, 7.5 km from Pontevedra, 6.5 km from Sanxenxo and less than 1 hour by motorway to the cities of Vigo and Santiago. It is a privileged base to explore the more scenic places of Galicia.

Facility

3 single rooms and 47 double rooms are located on 3 storeys and can be reached by lift. The reception desk is open round the clock. Services such as a baggage storage service and a safe ensure a comfortable stay. Wireless internet access is provided in public areas. The tour desk offers assistance with booking excursions. The hotel has a range of facilities for guests with disabilities. The hotel has wheelchair-accessible facilities. A garden provides extra space for rest and relaxation in the open air.     We booked one night at this hotel during our Camino walk. It is sitauted just across from the beach, a really nice area.The hotel staff were so friendly and welcoming and really lovely people. We had 3 x rooms facing the car park at the back of the hotel and they all had a small balcony.The rooms were clean and spacious, ideal for our short stay. We enjoyed the outdoor pool after our long walk, this was a real added bonus.The breakfast was satisfactory, although we had had more choice in some other accommodations we had stayed in along the way.Would certainly recommend this friendly hotel.

    The hotel was exceptionally clean everywhere. The included breakfast was excellent, and the service superbly friendly. The rooms were comfortable and great value for money. The pool area very nicely presented and maintained, and the friendliness of staff exceptional. Great value drinks and food in the bar too!     We visited Spain and Galicia in particular for the first time so everything was very new to us. We arrived to the hotel by car and, throughout our stay, felt being taken care of. All our needs were addressed with the highest level of hospitality. The hotel is conveniently located, cozy an offers everything necessary for relaxing time as well as an access to the unique surroundings.     Villa Covelo is a small, warm, friendly hide away where it is possible to relax in very pleasant surroundings. The pool area is lovely, never crowded and catches the sun beautifully. Dinner each evening was very good value, good choice of starters buffet style and and a good variety of mains and deserts to pick from. I’d recommend the half board deal as it’s good value and there are not many alternative restaurants very close by. The breakfast was equally good. Staff were very helpful and friendly, especially the lovely young lady at check-in and check-out.Rooms are spacious and it’s worth paying a bit extra for a front facing room. There is a roof terrace with a pleasant view over the inlet.Would recommend if you would like a quiet, relaxing holiday.     Really nice hotel and staff

    We’ve just left Hotel Villa Covelo, currently sitting in the airport awaiting our flight home. We arrived to the hotel which is in an area called Samieira by taxi from the airport which cost €54 it is about 30 minutes from the city of Vigo. The hotel is really nice very modern, appears to have had a recent renovation. On arrival we were greeted and very kindly offered an upgrade to the standard room that came with our package. We stayed in room 212 on the second floor overlooking the pool and sea with a large Velux window that came with electronic blind 2 large beds and 1 small bed. A tv and usual bathroom facilities. I gave a score of very good just because I would have liked to see coffee/tea making facilities and maybe a small fridge in the room as it was difficult to keep water cool. There are no English speaking channels on the tv which I can live without but each room has free WiFi. The nearest shop is a few minutes away, a butchers but also sells bare essentials. There is a petrol station and supermarket in Raxo which is about 2km walk Otherwise you need to get a bus either to Sanxenxo or Combarro. There is no ATM close by the nearest is again Sanxenxo or Combarro. There is a cafe just a short walk to the left of the hotel with great food and lovely staff. The hotel also has a cafe and a buffet type meal from 8pm, the menus are in the lifts and at reception. There is a lovely pool area onsite and a small beach area just a minute or two walk directly across from the hotel. To get back to the airport we got the bus to Pontevedra bus station, a bus then to Vigo bus station and a taxi to the airport which cost €26 total. We were awakened by the fire alarm on the first night staying and then a dog barking non stop close to the property on a couple of occasions (I think there are dog kennels across the road) I would recommend this hotel but only if you wanted to be away from the hustle and bustle as the hotel is quite away from anything. There isn’t much to see in either Samieira, Raxo Pontevedra or Vigo (I’m a photographer) We didn’t make it to Sanxenxo, I would recommend solely as a relaxing holiday.
