  Lovely parador, lovely town, lovely staff, lovely wine, lovely room… oh, and in case you’re wondering, the food from the cafeteria, and served in the outside courtyard was also lovely. We thoroughly enjoyed our stay, and would wholeheartedly recommend.Ps..and you can park for free!

  Very disappointing

  I booked a night at the Parador in Cambados as a 30th Anniversary surprise for my partner. Ten days before check in I phoned the hotel and asked if a vegan evening meal could be provided and I was assured that it was. On the day of arrival I checked with reception that a vegan meal was available and was told it was. We went to the dining room at 21.00hrs and the waitress didn´t come to our table until 21.25hrs (not even a drink order was taken). I asked about the vegan meal explaining I had phoned in advance and she was adament that vegan meals were not available but the cheese could be taken off the salad or the egg and bull´s cheek could be taken from another dish. We left the restaurant and expressed our disappointment to the receptionist who was very understanding and spoke to the waiting staff but got the same response. I do not think it is acceptable to accept a reservation for a vegan meal and not provide one. What should have been a celebratory evening turned into a very disappointing one as we ended up having burger and chips in a local bar. I asked to speak to a Manager before checkout but was told he/she wasnt available. I am now having difficulty finding an email address to email the Hotel. Parador Cambados, Owner at Parador de Cambados, responded to this review Dear Carich2022,First of all, thank you very much for your feedback, and I'm sorry our restaurant didn't meet your expectations.After looking into the matter, and to see the different versions you're giving on the various websites, when here you say you called personally, in the letter sent to our director you claim it was a friend of yours who understands Spanish very well.... I'm afraid the information that you understood or your friend gave you was incorrect. At no point was he informed that we had a vegan menu; he was simply told that we would provide vegan options, but no one told him we had any specific vegan dishes, much less a vegan menu.Regarding your claim , we know that's not true. Both the dining room and reception staff have confirmed that this is not what was offered, and frankly, it doesn't reflect our standard operating procedure. The person who served you is the Dining Room Manager, and according to her information, corroborated by the rest of the staff, she offered you several options, including salad, grilled vegetables, endives with yogurt sauce (you just had to use soy yogurt), or cream of potato soup. However, you told her you didn't want any adapted dishes and left the restaurant. When she returned to reception, she again presented you with those options, adding the veggie burger or any other dish you might want made with plant-based meat, but you still said you didn't want any and went to have dinner elsewhere.We reiterate that no one at our Parador informed you that we had a vegan menu or à la carte menu, and that our staff gave you all the possible options to serve you properly, but you chose not to accept our suggestions, which we respect.We sincerely regret this misunderstanding.Sincerely.Quality department

  A lovely hotel close to the promenade

  This Parador is only about 50 metres from the Cambados promenade offering many local walks. We couldn't fault the excellent restaurant for evening dining. Good quality seafood and fish dishes available.However, we were disappointed with the quality of hot food server for breakfast. On two occasions our eggs and bacon was delivered to our table cold. Also, service was very slow.Hopefully this was all due to unanticipated staffing issues and will be improved going forward.   Excellent hotel in central Cambados - ideal for bars & shopping for albariño

  We have stayed here before and so we knew what an excellent hotel this is. Our room was very good except for the creaky wooden floor. The pool was in operation and was most welcome. The bar snacks are excellent - the chicken bocadillo was huge as was the Club Sandwich ( massive - bacon, egg, chicken, ham, cheese . . .). It is located on the sea front, close to the shops - esp all the wine shops (albarino) and bars. We enjoyed using the guest salon for reading and playing cards. The staff were all very friendly & helpful. They have a box of games - ask at reception. The had a lovely pack of playing cards with Parador logo - shame they don´t make/sell these. As with most Paradors there is a lack of staff, costs I suppose. Esp at breakfast time.The Paradors are missing a trick with EV charging - they would attract more custom if they had these installed.   Relaxed quality hotel in great location

  Lovely relaxed hotel in the centre of Cambados - near to lots of restaurants and seafront promenade. Spacious rooms and bathrooms - very clean and comfortable. Car park was very welcome - but gets very full. Pool area is great for shade and a swim on a very hot days when we were there. Only slight issue was that our companions put out a ‘do not disturb’ sign which the housekeeping staff ignored and entered room to make up beds etc. Hotel staff were very helpful and pleasant in general.
