  Barbastro was very vibrant

  Arrived for an overnight stay on a busy Friday as we headed towards San Sebastian by car. The hotel car park was easy to locate and worth the modest fee for secure parking.We were taken aback as to how busy and vibrant the town was as we failed to obtain a reservation (before 11pm) at any of the restaurants we visited. The desk clerk at the hotel was most helpful and rang round until she secured us a booking at La Esquineta de la Calle Monzon - a really good dinner was enjoyed there too. Thank you!The hotel is very central, the rooms clean and not too small for a town centre location. We did not take breakfast as we were still full from the previous evening!   First off, if you've booked a parking space it'll be fun! The town is full of narrow one way streets which really confused the nav. Then the car park itself. Let's just say confidence is needed if you drive anything other than a small car. All adds to the adventure though. Rooms were clean, and a good size. Service was really good. Only thing it loses points on is the food - menu didn't seem to know what it wanted to be and the food was average.   Expensive for what it is

  This hotel is expensive considering the amenities it provides and location in where it is located (small city). The rooms have good space but the furniture and decoration is in bad quality. For what I paid I would expect something a lot better.

  Quiet and Clean Hotel in Good Location with Little Flaws

  We stayed here for two nights and found the hotel quiet and clean. Breakfast was good and offered many selections. The hotel has its own underground parking, which is very convenient. We found it a bit disappointing that the hotel's restaurant was closed. Especially on a Sunday night, when virtually every restaurant is closed in town, it would be good to be able to dine in the hotel. We noticed immediately that the Grand Hotel has some sort of business connection with the Sommos winery. For example, the waiters in the bar wear Sommos t-shirts. It would have been nice then to get some help from the reception with planning a winery visit. All we heard was that the wineries were closed on Sundays and that we should go on the web to plan a visit for Monday. The safe in our room did not work, and there were no hangers in the closet. Other than that, our visit here was pleasant.   The hotel is a little old but room size was good, staff friendly and overall a pleasant stay. We were a group of 24 and our dinner at the restaurant was excellent. Food was good and we love their bread. Everyone had a great time!
