Oh, dear!
22 Sept 2025
We have stayed now in a significant number of Paradores, but sadly this gets added to the list of ones to which we wouldn’t return! The restaurant and parador rather merge into each other as far as a review is concerned. On a positive note, lovely location, easy parking and chatty, helpful and efficient staff.Sadly…this parador really is showing its age. Insufficient electrical sockets in the bedrooms…sadly in these days of internet etc, people have rather a lot of items that need their nocturnal “fix “ of electricity! It is infinitely easier if there is a socket available!Lights, sockets, decor, bathroom, floorboards, etc. all needed some T.L.C. …. Bit disconcerting to sit on the loo, only to find that the floor tile in front of your foot is loose.. Food in the restaurant also a bit hit and miss. we shared a starter of canelon… which tasted delicious … for the first two or three seconds..but became a total let down as it was served barely tepid, and by the time we had finished our half portion, “tepid” had morphed into “cold”. We both chose the pork dish, which was delicious and tender. But OUCH… can a parador really justify a charge of €2.30 per person for a small piece of bread and some olive oil?

Hotel badly needs refurbishing and better air handling
30 Aug 2025
We stayed at the end of August, it was not hot but temperate, the Parador though was airless and it felt as though it was enveloped in stale, hot air. The bedroom similarly was airless and even with the fan provided, it was uncomfortable. The hotel is tired, the finishes are aged and the facility badly needs some air handling equipment installing, ideally some air conditioning. We woke at 05.00 and simply could not get back to sleep as the room was uncomfortable airless, just the fan recirculating 'old air', thank goodness we just had 1 night.

Frequent visitor
15 Aug 2025
As a frequent visitor of this parador I find the quality of service is diminishing. For starters we had quit a serious quarrel with Javi at the front desk. We asked if it was possible to change rooms for the second night because at the top floor the heath in the room was oppressive. Javi (Herredo?) replied that the hotel was fully booked. When we questioned his remark he said we could always leave without charge. We were struck by the readyness and quickness in which he suggested this!
