  Nice Parador in Val d’Aran

  We were a family of 6 on a fun winter weekend in Vielha. The property lives up to Parador standards: it is a historic building just outside of Vielha with great views of the valley. Rooms were spacious and the main beds were large and comfortable, although they were two single beds put side-by-side. We were staying on a 3 bed room and the additional bed was not as comfortable. The bathroom had a tub and everything needed. All in all, rooms were great although they could use some minor renovations (USB connectors, larger TVs). We were offered a drink with our stay, which was a nice detail and we did enjoy the lounge were we had it while playing some board games. We had dinner which was great although we would have appreciated a wider range of local dishes. Breakfast was great with good quality and variety but we did find a bit annoying that hot foods (omelettes, bacon, etc) had to be ordered and were not readily available to get on the counters. They have a pool and spa but there is a pricey fee to use it (40€ pp) and children are not allowed, which was a bit disappointing. In conclusion, you cannot go wrong with the quality of the stay at this Parador even if the experience itself feels a bit disconnected from the local culture (lack of variety of local dishes, absence of Aranese/Catalan language everywhere, etc). recepcion vileha, Owner at Parador de Vielha, responded to this review Thank you so much for your detailed review!   Excellent service. Staff friendly and welcoming. Such a wonderful location. Despite the weather we had a great stay. Food excellent too. Only disappointment was the charge for the spa which seemed pricy.
