  Magnificent views of Salamanca Cathedral from the hotel

  Fabulous 2 day stay at the Parador Salamanca.Very generous and spacious rooms, and as others have previously mentioned if you have a room facing towards the city you truly have the most magnificent views of the Cathedral ??Breakfasts were acceptable, on the first morning, they were incredibly busy and staff appeared a little overwhelmed. You can easily walk in to the city from the hotel. It's about a 20 minute walk, just bear in mind that if you return to the hotel after midnight, they turn the lights off, which light the steps leading up to the hotel, which we learnt to our cost, on one occasion. Overall we were happy with the hotel, which was in an ideal spot and easy parking. One disappointment was there were no tea or coffee making facilties in the room. On returning late to the hotel one evening, the bar was closed and no room service, so we were unable to either make, or order a hot drink.   Potential for further improvements

  We were looking forward to returning to Parador Salamanca, and expected the same, excellent experience as before. Unfortunately, we were disappointed. First, though, it is fair to highlight the positives, including the cafe bar, albeit with a rather restricted menu, where the staff are consistently friendly, professional, and very efficient. Similarly, the maintenance/cleaning staff were also friendly and very conscientious. The Superior Room, available for a supplement, delivered the promised stunning views of the Cathedral and city. This is possible due to the hotel’s excellent location, within walking distance of the town. One’s car can also be conveniently parked in the ample space outside, while taking a welcome break from driving.The Reception staff are best described as efficient, and obviously dedicated to processing guest details. In contrast to most other staff, however, the feeling of genuinely valuing hotel guests was not especially obvious. This might be consistent with the failure to reply to an email enquiry made some days before our arrival concerning dining. It was also disappointing to experience an apparent lack of concern on arrival at the desk that I did not receive even an acknowledgment of my message. Without detailing the content of my original question here (nothing was done then, and so will almost certainly not be done now), it was further disappointing to experience the lack any desire to constructively address the issues as explained. The main public areas of the hotel are as impressive as ever. However, aspects of our ‘superior’ room were undoubtedly tired, and in need of upgrading. An outside area which has certainly maintained its position as a terrific place to enjoy the facilities is the outdoor pool, which continues to be spotlessly clean, relaxing and inviting. Overall, therefore, the positive qualities of Parador Salamanca are undeniable; however, if the company wishes to retain its status as a top location for visitors, investment in aspects of staff development, and material refurbishment, might be recognised as areas deserving of urgent priority treatment.   Good place to stay when visiting Salamanca, just avoid the cafeteria.

  I stayed, with my wife, at the Parador in July. Overall our experience was good but could be better. On the plus side the location is good, a 15 minute walk into the old city (a comfortable walk for us in our seventies). We had a superior room which was spacious and comfortable. The area around the pool is nice for relaxing. We enjoyed a meal in the restaurant and overall the staff were friendly and helpful. The one exception is the cafeteria/bar where we consistently found the service to be slow and the staff unhelpful, bordering on unfriendly. I would recommend staying here but to avoid the cafeteria. The old city of Salamanca itself is a must visit.   Room with a view

  Out of the town and in the heat we didnt bother walking. First impressions at reception there was no Welcome...Just a stern lady who just said 'PASSPORTS' to us in a rather demanding way. I tried to make conversation with her but she hardly acknowledged me. Not the best start but the room with a view of the cathedral was lovely and at night the lights were beautiful.   Chic hotel with its own style.

  This hotel is chic. Has its own style and very inviting. The hotel was extremely clean and tidy. Beautiful thick rugs on the corridor. Large double bedroom 107 overlooking the spectacular cathedral. The staff at reception, cafe and restaurant were all friendly, professional and knowlegable..thank you so much. The evening meal was amazing and delicious. The breakfast was perfect and included everything.Only thing I would suggest although we did arrive after a 6hour drive on the hottest day of the year 38degrees.. a complementary iced water on tap placed in the labby and bottle in the room free.We will return.It was a perfect location .Thank you.
