  Hotel San Paolo was perfectly situated close to the historic city centre, and everything about the stay was perfect (the spacious room, the breakfast and the service).

  A most convenient hotel for the centre of Salamanca. An easy walk to all the sites. Our room gave us a partial view of the walls. Although it also overlooked a busy roundabout it wasn’t noisy. It was fine for a 3 star hotel. The bed was comfortable and the bathroom well equipped. There were no USB points, a problem as we had forgotten our adapters. Fortunately reception was able to lend us some. Breakfast was a bit squashed in, not table wise, but lack of space to get to the buffet. Tea and coffee were made to individual orders which lead to queuing. But all the food was good. We had dinner one evening. The tuna dish was very good, cooked just the right amount. The raspberry sauce was delicious and different. The set lunch looked good value and was served in the courtyard, unfortunately we were on a visit then. All the staff were well trained and helpful.

  Location is great, on the site of one of the old city gates so it is close to the sights. On the other hand, there is a busy junction outside so you need to keep the window closed. Some rooms have a nice view of the cathedral.I found the younger members of staff could be coaxed to smile, but the older man and woman who were usually on reception would barely acknowledge your entry or exit from the hotel.The brekfast buffet was fine for us, and the young woman running it on her own worked hard.Nice courtyard to sit in with a glass of wine or beer.

  Great location to explore to city

  We had a great one-night stay at Hotel San Polo in Salamanca. The price-quality ratio was excellent, offering good value for money. Although the rooms were a bit outdated, they were still acceptable considering the price. The hotel's central location was a major plus, and it was easily from the nearby parking areas across the river. The convenience of being in the heart of the city made it easy to explore all that Salamanca has to offer. We would recommend it for its affordability and convenient location.

  We stayed here for 2 nights as part of a group tour so cannot comment on value for money.The location is excellent with beautiful view of cathedral from our bedroom window.The room,whilst spacious ,was spartan,could do with some furniture being added.The bathroom soap dispensers were functional but reminiscent of a public toilet!The breakfast was average,the coffee unpleasant,and woman running the room was surly!The location makes this hotel,and it wouldn’t take too much of an effort to improve things!
