  Room/view completely different to website

  We booked this hotel and went for a premium plus sea view room after looking at the website and thought it would be perfect to watch the salou air show.How wrong we were.After checking in we made our way to the top floor and entered our room, first glance all seemed ok there was a few cosmetic issues in the room but we was shocked when we went onto the balcony to find out that the best sea view in Salou was obscured by a concrete pillar running diagonally across the view which meant if you was sitting down you couldn’t really see anything and if standing up you had to bend under it (see photos).I went down to reception to complain and was told straight away that I could have a refund this didn’t seem an option as it was a busy weekend and all seafront hotels are fully booked.I was told to email my complaint to the reservation desk and it would be passed on to a manager.Approx 4 hours later we went to reception to find out what was going on as we had heard nothing only to be told I’ve just sent an email to you. This came through whilst I was talking to the receptionist.All they offered was to refund our parking charges which was €45. I found this an insult considering we were paying over €700 for the entire stay.We decided to check out and to add insult we was told we now had to pay for the first night even though we didn’t stay there and the room had totally been misold to us on the website.I have also emailed 4r hotels and as yet I’m still awaiting a response. We are sorry that the Premium Plus Sea View room assigned to you did not meet the expectations you had formed prior to your arrival, particularly as the sea view was an important factor in your choice of accommodation.We would, however, like to clarify some aspects regarding the handling of your reservation. Unfortunately, no alternative frontal sea-view room was available at the time, so we were unable to offer the room change you requested. After reviewing the situation, complimentary parking for the stay was offered as compensation, which you decided not to accept as your priority was to have a different sea view.When you later informed Reception that you preferred to find alternative accommodation, our team agreed to refund the remaining unused nights of your five-night reservation. As your departure took place after 10 p.m. on the first day, you were informed that the first night would be charged, while the following four nights and the parking amount were refunded.That said, we understand the central point of your disappointment. The Premium Plus Sea View rooms are located on the top floor and their architectural configuration varies, meaning that structural elements can affect the view from certain rooms. We appreciate your comments regarding how these rooms and their views are presented online, as clear expectations at the time of booking are extremely important.We regret that the room, together with other aspects of your brief experience at the hotel, led you to decide not to continue your stay.   Not a bad hotel, we were half board, so we got a good idea of the restaurant facilities. Very good choice of food for breakfast and dinner. Staff were very friendly and spoke English, Hotel in right on the beach, so we had great walks. Only 2 English TV channels, BBC and another.   Very nice hotel

  Brilliant hotel.good big room the beds are very comfy shower is really nice. Room is spotless house keeping do a amazing job and super quick. We only did breakfast but loads to pick and very tasty.nice pool though small and kinda in a bad spot,it seems to be always in the shade. Staff are very nice and friendly except the girl on reception. Very cold from the start and unprofessional.beach is across the road,so nice.   A lovely experience all round. Volveramos!

  The location is excellent at the quiet end of the resort with views to the Ponent beach.We were greeted by a very friendly Yolanda who made checking in a breeze. A lovely 3rd floor room with a side sea view which was bigger than expected and immaculate.The staff were all really lovely with a special mention to Carlos and Octavi.A wide variety of food available for both breakfast and dinner meant no complaints form ourselves. With mostly Spanish and French quests the atmosphere was calm and relaxing. No rowdy groups to spoil the vibe.
