  Nice quiet stay

  We have just returned from a trip to coma ruga staying at 4r gran Europe and had a lovely time. We travelled for a wedding in sitges but chose this hotel due to it being family friendly. The hotel itself is well kept, the rooms are basic but have everything you need. We travelled with our 2 year old and although it was advertised as a family hotel there wasn’t a huge amount at the hotel for children, the shallow part of the pool is 3m so unless you have a confident swimmer it’s not really suitable, the children’s play centre was not open, and there was no family entertainment but as a whole there was plenty to do for a week. The turtle pool was very entertaining and there are lots of play arears all along the beaches to walk to. Food was good, lots of choice for breakfast and dinner - buffet style and was varied each day. Drinks prices were reasonable and lots of choice. The hotel itself is a 10/15 minute walk toThe Main stretch of coma ruga where there are some restaurants and bars but it was a lot quieter than we expected - not sure if the season had not started yet but by 10pm everything was closed and in the week there was only a few restaurants open even in the day. A week was fine but if we stayed any longer we would have been bored. We travelled to villa nova via train one day but due to works on the train we were unable to get a train back and it took us and hour and a half to get a taxi back, there are no taxis driving round, we asked locals who were really unhelpful and we panicked a bit with our little one so it put us off travelling anywhere again. Uber, cabify and bolt do not work in sitges, villa nova or coma ruga so you are reliant on local taxis and unless you can speak good Spanish you will struggle. We travelled to sitges and managed to get the train there and taxi back which cost us £70 then another day train there and taxi back late at night which cost £90. The week we stayed seemed to be catered for OAP’s - not sure if this is a regular thing or just again out of season but the music and ALL the entertainment was catered for 65 and over. I would say 80% of the guests were pensioners which was lovely to see nice and quiet but meant there wasn’t much atmosphere or things to do for younger people. Overall it was a nice stay and suited us for our trip this time.   Relaxing week

  Nice little hotel with beach front location. The hotel is comfortable with nice size rooms, sea veiw too.The staff are friendly and helpful, nothing too much trouble. The quality of food on offer was good, albeit not always to my taste.There is a coffee machine in the room( dolce gusto) packs are available at 10 euros.There didn’t seem to be any trips available (jet2) but you can get to Barcelona ,Tarragona, Salou ect on the train that is very easy to use.The train station, Vincec de calders is around a 10 minute walk.Best value is a 31 euro ticket that gives you 10 journeys , or Barcelona is 15 euros return per person.If you want sun loungers on the beach , they are 10 euros per day each.There are restaurants and bars, shops ect all within a short walk.Check out is at 10 am, but it is possible to extend your room.We did this for 30 euros (until 3pm) but you won’t know until the day before if it’s possible.We had a relaxing week here without any problems, and would recommend the 4R Gran Europe

  A very nice hotel with a great location!

  This hotel is a very nice place for many reasons.Pros, The all inclusive food is better than most, the pool is alright, the bar's are nice, the drinks are presented very well, the waiters and bartenders are very nice people (Cheers to Reuben!), the location is AMAZING, the rooms are airconned and very cool. They have table tennis, there is entertainment every night, and it is always enjoyable, for both the kids and adults, It's very diverse meaning you can make friends with people from France, the UK, Germany, and the Spanish. the outside bar is cool, as well as the inside. You can have a pitcher with your dinner.Cons, The rooms toilets in family rooms have no locks, the food does get a bit boring in about 4 days, the pool is very small, the only good desert is the pfiterols.Overall, a very nice hotel! As well as being close to Port Aventura!

  Don’t intend on coming back. Got given the wrong room at the beginning when we paid for a premium, was sorted out eventually but there was dried mucus rubbed up wall next to the bed. Only 1 bar open instead of 3 they claimed to have. All inclusive only includes a set list of cocktails, and minimal snack list(ready salted crisps in a paper cup) and miniature ice creams. The food was mediocre at best. The same 10 songs played outside by the pool on repeat all day which was extremely annoying. All inclusive people not treated equally.

  Nice hotel but nothing to do.

  Hotel is not set up for tourists, no trips or buses running.. no shops near by that was open., a ten minute walk on the beach front to a handful of bars and shops , no English guests and mostly Spanish..Reception ordered us a taxi daily to callafel, which is 15 euros one way and 10 minutes away, beautiful beach there and lots of shops and bars. One hour on the train will take you to Barcelona which was 15 euros return each , 5 mins in a taxi to the train station. It was very busy in Barcelona and noisy with heavy traffic and packed with tourists. The train station is underground so remember how to get back....the hotel food is good, lots of fresh fish being cooked and meats, fresh fruit and cakes..did not see any all inclusive snacks in the day time,but maybe you had to ask. Rooms was comfortable and seaview from the balcony. Beds comfortable with soft bedding. Would not return, only because we prefer to be surrounded by shops and a 10 am check out is too early when you have a night flight, we kept asking to pay for a late check out but they will not tell you until 9am on check out day, which is madness when you still have to get packed and ready to leave by 10am incase it's a no . We felt like they should know who is arriving ahead so checked out at 10am . All inclusive runs out at midday on departure day. Nice hotel but nothing to do.
