  Separate place to collect apartment keys which was very unclear on arrival. Paid 200 euros deposit and told to make sure dishes were washed or we’d lose it. Left it cleaner than I found it. Very poor accommodation and dated. No kettle. Only 4 hand towels supplied for the whole week. Very few electrical points. Fridge and microwave plugged into a dodgy looking extension lead. No air conditioning just fans circulating warm air. It was dreadful!!

  Just came back from our holiday to Salou. Stayed in Arquus IV. When we arrived we was dropped off at what we thought was our hotel by a taxi driver (not his fault) we waited there for about 15 minutes as we couldnt get in (code on the gate) finally when we managed to get the attention of one of the staff inside they took us round the corner and told us to ring this number as that particular reception is no longer open. We rang the number and we had a 20minute walk to pick up the keys also a €100 deposit which we also weren't told about. Walked back to what we thought was our hotel with the key code for the door. The code didnt work and again another 10mins to get attention of a staff member from inside to then be told there is actually 4/5 of these hotels and we are number 4 and apparently he didnt know where number 4 was??? Luckily we found a kind local that told us the direction. Finally we made it to our apparentment! Anyway we walked in and it was filthy! Hair over the floor, it also had a funny smell about the rooms. Just 4 towels which weren't replaced throughout the weeks stay, and also the sheets weren't changed and the apartment wasnt cleaned. The pools were filthy (there was actually a used sanitary pad in the small pool when we arrived and was there for 3 days!) Also most of the apartments seem to be taken by locals who are constantly arguing and smoking drugs. We had police knock on our door on the second day of being there as apparently they were called to our apartment due to glass being smashed the night before?? One afternoon it also looked as though someone maybe a child that couldn't get to the toilet on time had had an accident in the corridor which hadn't been cleaned as you could still see the urine stains. We had to check out early as our flight was early and we are still awaiting our deposit back after having rang them twice already to chase it. We wasnt told on the day that check out was at 10 cause the we would have mentioned that we fly at 10 and how would we get our money back. However the location was lovely as you were right in the middle of it all. Just a shame about the vibe and filthiness. I would never stay here again and Arquus has probably put me off coming back to salou.

  Really can’t complain

  After reading the reviews on here I was really apprehensive about my forthcoming holiday at arquus 2 booked through booking.com. I’d done my homework and found where I was to pick the keys up from and where apartment was located, but still worried about what the apartment would be like. I must say I was pleasantly surprised from start to finish well nearly as I’m still here. The office I was to pick the key from was quite a walk away but a pleasant walk past the fountains, the young man who dealt with me at click and booking was extremely pleasant and informative telling me to contact if anything wasn’t right. My apartment is really clean and lovely overlooking a noisy street but not too noisy to sleep ( my son is autistic and has had no problems). Pool is good and everything you need is close by. Considering it cost me less than a caravan in Skegness I think I got a good deal

  After reading the reviews we were pleasantly surprised, the office is located a few doors down from Arquus I and II. Most of the staff were friendly, helpful and spoke good English. The location of the apartments is great as it is beside the bus stop to the airport, PortAventura and water park. It is walking distance to the beach and many shops. The pool was nice and there was a man cleaning it each morning during our trip in August. The apartment was equipped and clean. Unfortunately the apartment didn’t have a kettle and towels were small. The sofa bed can be difficult to fold back into a couch because of the heat. The main negatives to the apartment is the fact that there is no air conditioning, it is so hot in summer anyway as even with windows open there is no airflow. The other negative is the noise of the street as there is a night club near by. Even though our room over looked the pool we still needed ear plugs to attempt to block out the noise.

  To start with..we get to the apartments for 15: 30 we are then told the apartments won't be ready until 5 o'clock in the evening so we had to go away and come back in a hour and a half.. considering you have to be out the apartment for 10 o'clock in the morning and they knew we was coming not good we got the keys for the apartment and we was told it was five streets away not the address that we're actually booked which I wasn't made aware of we got to the apartment it was small no air conditioning 1 window and extremely hot could not get a flow of air anywhere there was no pans no kettle nothing apart from towels and old bedding. I went back to their office and asked to be changed it was not what I asked for i e top floor overlooking pulled because I know how noisy the street is they gave us second floor above a pub and nightclub not happy.. they refused to change I spoke to holiday company and they said speak to them again which I did and I asked for my money back because this is not what I have paid for and I would find my own apartment they then changed the apartment to a second floor overlooking a street very quiet the apartment was lovely but please be aware if you book these apartments you can be put anywhere in Salou the address that they give you is their office and what you see possibly isn't what you are going to get we were the only English in those apartments the rest were French and from what my daughter has told me he knows French a little bit they were being rude and critical and also do not be surprised if you take these apartments you can also smell people smoking drugs... I mentioned this to the apartment people and they said that is Salou ... But if you want a really good night go to Christie's Irish bar or Danny Boy great entertainment
