  Lovely base for the Calcots festival

  Located a brisk 15-min walk from the centre and station, this modern, clean and friendly hotel was a delight. Typical rooms for this type of hotel with very large beds, all maintained to a high standard.Yes it neighbours a dual carriageway beyond which is an industrial estate, which features a large Kellogg's factory so hardly heavy industry and during our stay it was not an issue. Rooms have air con, so no need to open the window.Friendly staff, welcoming bar and a restaurant which delivered a good breakfast and an evening meal much better than those in the equivalent UK hotel HOTEL CLASS Valls, Director General at B&B Hotel Tarragona Valls, responded to this review Dear Sherbo,Your opinion is, with no doubt, the basis for our daily work.   Not an upper "class" hotel

  To start with : Valls is not a nice place and this hotel is located about 2 km from the town centre, next to an industrial area, the main police station and some low-cost housing buildings. Unfortunately, one of the factories nearby emits a very unpleasant, sulphur smell ... not all the time, but regularly. For that reason, you can't leave the room window open, even if inside it is too hot. Of course, we can't blame the hotel for all that ... But although we were supposed to have a "Superior" room, we had no air conditioning, no correctly functioning wifi, no correctly functioning refrigerator and no correctly functioning lighting. The manager will tell we should have complained about all this, but we don't travel to spend our precious time complaining : we just want all these things to be OK from the very beginning ! Moreover, cleaning (esp. of the bathroom) is very superficial and communication with the reception before arrival (via e-mail) was rather unfriendly. For the price we paid (about 115 EUR / night without breakfast) this hotel is just not good. Not good at all ! The hotel is located in a residential area, at no time are low-cost houses as suggested.Unfortunately, the factory that you indicate is very well known and manufactures cereals. Sometimes those smells are unavoidable and it is a fact outside the hotel.We confirm that last October, we installed more new generation WIFI equipment that provides coverage to the entire hotel without exception, we do not understand what could have happened to your computer.   Amazing highly recomend!!!

  We have stay for 4 nights. The place was very very good! Clean, staff was polite and always with a smille. Close to most of the tourism atractions. Big big pool. Fantatic with the covid new rules. Oh! and the restaurant is very yummy. Tapas and proper food! I can’t recomend it enough! Oh also dog friendly.... Highly recomend!!!   The hotel was a real surprise much better than I had expected. Very clean very new well appointed and air-conditioned rooms. Price was about €85 for 2 people including two breakfast. I can easily recommend this one.   Nice on the whole but noisy nights

  I stayed in this hotel for three nights on business. First impressions were good - parking was plentiful, and the hotel is well presented from the outside and in the reception. The check-in was really quick (it was 1am so the lack of other guests helped!) and I was in my room within 5 minutes of arriving. The room was spacious, comfortable and modern - not dissimilar to most chain hotels of a similar rating. Nothing very breathtaking but very pleasant. The bed was comfortable and the heating/cooling very effective and easy to use. The bathroom was clean and modern, and this was one of the few hotel showers I’ve used recently that hasn’t flooded the bathroom during use (although it did deliver a burst of freezing water every few minutes). The toiletries provided are a single, wall-mounted gel for hair and body, and there was no lotion or conditioner, but the gel was nice enough. Shoe shine sponges, shower caps and packs of tissues were also provided. There were a couple of small cleanliness issues with the room: the top of the bathroom soap dispenser was extremely dirty, and there was lipstick on one of the glasses in the room. There were two free water bottles in the fridge. The only disappointment with the room was the lack of tea and coffee making facilities, which I would expect even in a 3-star hotel.The room was also quite noisy during the night. Lots of banging and noises like furniture being dragged across a polished floor above, almost constantly. There was also a regular, long, whining/whirring sound. A white noise app and earplugs just about made it possible to sleep through this. We used the restaurant on two occasions. There is a menu in the room which has a wider variety of things than the menu in the dining room. However, I asked for a pizza (mentioned in the room menu but not the restaurant menu) and they served it to me with no problems. This is just as well, as there isn’t the best choice in the restaurant - I didn’t see anything suitable for vegetarians, and a lot of it was fish. My first choice of grilled beef was unavailable on that night. However, the food was very good and service was pleasant and quick. The restaurant did not open until 20:00. I don’t want to present this as a negative, as it’s normal for Spain, but it is something to consider for less Mediterranean visitors who might prefer their evening meal earlier!Wi-fi was really reliable and unlimited, and there was no need to keep logging back in - once connected for the first time, that was it!On the whole I would recommend this hotel, but take ear plugs.
