    Fantastic all inclusive holiday

    rating29 May 2026

Hotel Best NegrescoArrival- allowed us to check in early (1pm), gave us information needed and we requested four beach towels (€10 cash deposit per towel- towels can be swapped daily, and money returned at end of stay. Very swift and friendly service. Keep your receipt to return the towels, as that’s needed for the refund.Pool area/outside bar - bar and entertainment team are brilliant, lots of laughter and smiles. Engaged with everyone from my 7yr old daughter to 40 yr old husband. Snacks food- toasties & chips were a hit! Although hot dog and burger didn’t look the most appealing family shared they tasted ok. Served on paper plates.Pool isn’t the biggest, but did the job keeping the children entertained. There is a rush in the mornings for beds at 9:30. Beds should be left for no longer than an hour reserved, I did notice some people informing the life guard of prolonged unoccupied beds and he does remove towels. We used water balls, mini water pistols/pumps, sinkies in the water, as did other families. Large floaties were not allowed. There are paddle boards that can be hired by the hour for €16. We didn’t use one but they were a hit with other guests. Buffet- everyone found something to eat, from steak to make your own calamari stir fry on the cooking stations, to a wide variety of food being brought out regularly. Drinks brought to the table, either by the glass, jug or bottle. Staff were extremely quick to clean plates away. You can eat inside or on the terrace for breakfast, but for evening meal only after 8pm. Breakfast has an omelette making station, cheeses/meats, then chorizo sausages, bacon etc- self serve hot and cold drinks, and there is a fizz fridge too!Drinks- They ran out of certain all Inclusive ice creams and cocktails, so limited for choice as this happened daily. It is replenished fresh each morning for the day though.Drinks were great, have a large selection of branded alcohol, as well as house. Estrella and sangria on tap, Self serve pop drinks and water- these are all paper cups though, but do ask for a plastic or take your own. I would have wine at dinner and take the remainder of the bottle with me and pop in my fridge.Room-Clean, and beautiful views of the sea (we had sea view).Although no kettle or iron this did not impact our stay at all. Upon arrival, 2 bottled pop and one bottled water in the fridge. I used the glass bottle as a refill. If you ask before bed for a fresh bottle of water they will give one from the bar. Highly recommend sea view room. Family rooms do feel smaller, we had two double beds, it did have limited space but doable. Entertainment- Mini disco each night was fantastic the staff were brilliant with our children and really made the holiday extra special for them. 10pm shows ranged from an acro show to musical bingo and a tribute night. They were always fun. During the day the animations team would host many fun games and activities. We did sangria making, random games and water dancing, all brought laughter! Checkout- Swift and easy, and there’s a luggage hold should you need it. We didn’t as we had early pick up.Transfer with On the beach- this was the longest part of the holiday as came from Barcelona. You get dropped at the round about a few mins walk, not far at all. The transfer on return ran early so do make sure if you are using MTS you get there earlier than your collection. Transport- buy a plana bus card, we got 20 trips for €17 which worked out much cheaper than €2.55 a trip. One card covers multiple people. So our group of 7 all used it. Cap Salou and Salou- both lovely walls away in opposite directions. Worth a visit for sure. 4,6 and 47 buses head to salou. The questions I had but couldn’t find answers to were-Are there many drinks on all inclusive? yes there are lots, we didn’t pay for any as the all inclusive menu was enough. Is there evening entertainment? Yes, mini club at 9:15, then show at 10pm in the barIs the hotel dated, and do pictures truly reflect it? Yes, hotel is immaculately clean with the most amazing views. Special mentions-Thankyou to David on the bar, whose smiley and happy service was contagious. Your service was always with a smile, we appreciate your part of our successful holiday. Thankyou to Clara and Lucia for being absolutely and completely amazing! These two ladies are apart of the animations team and truly entertained our whole party of 7. We shared so much laughter, and our children absolutely adore you both. We appreciate the lengths you go to to make holidays extra special.Would highly recommend and will return.

    Everything you could possibly want...

    rating26 May 2026

Wow...from start to finish such a wonderful experience. All the staff- housekeeping, restaurant, bar, reception etc were all fantastic but the animation team are something else! Lucia and Clara are absolute stars! They made my 13 year old feel welcomed and involved at all times. All of the team were amazing though. The food- so much choice- our clothes are a little tighter than they were before we arrived! The rooms- lovely light and bright, great air-conditioning and fantastic shower! The views and sunsets are breathtaking and it is only a 15 minute walk into salou once you figure out the short cut. We genuinely didn't want to leave. Pilar Rios, Marketing at Best Negresco, responded to this review Dear luckiescape,Thank you for sharing your delightful experience at Best Negresco. Best Negresco, Cap Salou

    rating25 May 2026

The hotel is in a lovely location right next to the beach. It’s a short distance to Salou, which is easily accessible by walking or using the bus (although do remember that buses only take cash or a preloaded travel card obtainable from the shop at the top of the road). Access to the hotel is by walking down a very bumpy pavement if your transfer is via a coach. The hotel was clean, and the staff were helpful and pleasant. I had a room with a lateral Seaview, which was lovely, although it did look out over the back of the hotel and the bin area. This wasn’t a problem as I was on the fourth floor, but would imagine it’s not so pleasant lower down the building. The room itself was a good size with two double beds, a vanity unit, and a decent number of sockets. I was impressed by the fact that once you came through the door, you walked past the bathroom and wardrobe, and there was another door into the actual room. This meant it was possible to block out the light from the exterior corridor, and some of the noise from people using the hallway. Another plus was the safe, which was free to use… A lot of hotels I’ve stayed in add a charge for this. On the downside, the walls are very very thin. I was unfortunate enough to have noisy neighbours both sides. In particular one large group of people who twice decided it was okay to all meet in the one room and play loud music until 2 o’clock in the morning with the patio door wide open . The second time this happened I went down to reception at about 1130 but there was no one available. There are also no tea or coffee making facilities in the room., Although there is a fridge which is stocked with a bottle of water, a Pepsi, and a Fanta. This wasn’t restocked at any point of my seven nights stay..The pool is quite small for such a large hotel, and the sunbeds are packed in really tight. There is a seating area next to the pool bar, which would be a lot nicer if people would respect the no smoking signs. Choice of food and drink is typical all inclusive, with the exception of certain premium brand drinks also being available at no extra cost. I would advise asking for premium brand drinks by name rather than description. For example, if you ask for gin you get house gin, but if you ask for Bombay gin they give you that. The cocktails were premixed from a machine and absolutely revolting! Breakfast had reasonable selection. Not much choice of cereal, but a huge variety of different milks. There was the continental meat and cheese selection, croissants and pastries, a variety of eggs and other cooked food, yoghurt, and fruit (although a lot of that appeared to be tinned). Lunch and dinner consisted of pizza, pasta, salads, and chips along with various meat and fish dishes, potatoes, and vegetables. There were a couple of show cooking areas too. The deserts tended to be a bit samey and included still more tinned fruit. The drinks at lunch and dinner are table service. If ordering a full bottle of water or wine from the all-inclusive menu, we were not prevented from taking the leftovers to finish in our rooms. Overall, I had a very enjoyable stay at the Best Negresco. The location is quiet, but with easy access to the beach and the bus stop, although the atmosphere of the hotel was quite lively with several large groups staying there, and this did tend to generate a fair bit of noise. I’d say the hotel would suit people who like to stay somewhere away from the main resort and who enjoy being next to a lovely sandy beach Pilar Rios, Marketing at Best Negresco, responded to this review Dear Helen L,Thank you for taking the time to share your detailed feedback regarding your recent stay at Best Negresco. Overall mediocre! But fantastic staff!!

    rating23 May 2026

Location is fabulous on the seafront but not recommended for anyone with difficulties walking as it’s hilly and rocky but there are buses available. The atmosphere is good and friendly, probably best for families not so much for couples. Rooms are spacious with two double beds, clean and well maintained. The walls are paper thin and you can hear neighbours on either side. We did have to go to reception as a family next door were arguing and fighting with the children screaming, staff were concerned and did address the issue but once they left it started again. They checked out the next morning, unfortunately we then had a young couple the other side arguing! Followed by a very loud group of people so sleep was quite poor even with ear plugs! We did get this holiday at a reasonable price so would say that it was value for money. I did have an issue with having to have small paper cups for lager. Not allowed the plastic pint ones that were available paying guests? Didn’t make sense to me as we are paying guests with All Inclusive? The food was alright but very repetitive with no theme nights as such. The restaurant staff work very very hard, friendly and never stop. The restaurant itself self when busy was like a cattle market and not pleasant. Some guests have no respect for other guests or the staff! As non smokers we would have liked to sit outside for the evening meals and breakfast more, which we did a couple of times but unfortunately it’s also the smoking area and it appeared wherever we sat there were chain smokers! The pool is ok but seemed quite small for the number of guests with families arriving on our second weekend, lots of sun beds jammed in to tight together and claimed with towels as soon as the area opened! We have never experienced this before so was quite entertaining to watch! We went out and about most days, lots to see and do. Did get beds for the last hour or two at the end of the day.Although it is rated a 4* I would say it would be better advertised as a 3 star
