  Just ok for a big group like ours

  Big hotel where we stayed with a group of 250 golfers. Nice and big room, with a big bathroom, good breakfast. Meeting in the Arena restaurant in front of the hotel with 60 people was disturbed by the outside live music. So, not a perfect venue for a large group meeting.   Nice clean hotel. Upgraded to a club suite very nice and spacious. Food awful. OK if you like cold salads. First time in 50years of travelling around different hotels that I have found a problem with food. Very little choice and what little hot food there is it is cold. No atmosphere or entertainment . Thought it would be nice to see a different part of salou but early October and most places closed. I would not recommend this hotel Sorry Blaumer possibly worst hotel in 50 years.   Leisure hotel, not right for business

  I was staying at this hotel for a conference that was held nearby. Whilst the hotel itself was nice, great breakfast room, good selection, hotel seemed modern I was put into the aparments across the square, no issue with this as a number of delegates were in here. The apartments were tired and little old fashioned. Whilst its predominantly a leisure hotel, I was suprised that there wasn't any wifi access in the apartments - you had to get a router from reception and pay a 50euro deposit. In a 4* hotel the least I would expect was internet access(and also be told about the router) Secondly the hotel had a gym, I asked when I checked in if I needed a key to access, I was told no, but you had to book a time for the Spa. I explained I only wanted to use the the gym, they advised I had to walk across the pool area to access the gym, in the morning I attempted to do this, the door to the pool area was locked, I went back to reception to be told the gym didn't open until 10:00am, how ridiculous, I explained that I had asked at check in and wanted to use before departing for the conference, it was going to take them 15 mins to open the door, I gave up. Overall reception were polite but not helpful and couldn't rectify things.   Fantastic location, lovely hotel

  Overall we enjoyed our stay, perfect location, hotel clean and staff friendly. We arrived early on our first day, (Reus Airport is small and only seems to run morning flights from Manchester), so we had a siesta as soon as we were able to check in at 2pm. Upon waking, my bed was in the middle of the room! The cleaners had forgotten to lock the bed after changing the bedding. I called down to reception and they got it fixed straight away. The reception staff were a bit frosty, which was disappointing. I thought perhaps they were having an 'off day' but over the course of our stay, they remained the same with any interaction. The dining staff however, were wonderful and smiley. Some of the waitresses struggled a little with English, but both myself and my daughter are learning Spanish, so we managed to work together. We were disappointed with the pool, it was was heavily chlorinated, so much so it was cloudy and you couldn't see the bottom. Both myself and daughter have sensitive skin, so we decided not to risk swimming in it. The buffet food was cooked well, however not kept warm. Every meal we had, was just about passable temperature wise. The variety was good, themed nights were excellent. We thought it strange that we didn't have to pay for drinks at breakfast, but evening meal drinks are chargeable. We weren't made aware of this when we arrived. The drinks are very reasonably priced though, so it wasn't much of an issue. The WiFi was terrible. So much so, I ran out of data, which never happens back home. The walls are paper thin, so we had to use ear plugs to sleep. We loved the water coolers dotted around the hotel. The hotel is very eco friendly. No kettle or tea/ coffee in the room and shampoo/gel attached to the shower wall, no other toiletries. The hairdryer kept turning itself off after a couple of minutes of use, which was frustrating. We also had to pay for the safety deposit box in the room, which I've never had to do before. €6 per night. Again, we enjoyed our stay, the downsides didn't detract from the holiday too much. We went to the beach instead of the pool, granted we had to pay for sun beds but you get a reduced price staying in the hotel. The food at the Bluumar beach bar was fantastic. The location is perfect, everything within walking distance. There is a local Mercadona only a 5 min walk from the hotel, we were half board so bought snacks and drinks for during the day and stored them in the fridge, dry goods on shelves and drawers. Plenty to do in the surrounding areas. The show at House of Illusion is definitely with a visit, as well as the walk along the promenade with the illuminated fountains and the night market. We had a fantastic meal at Tempura, if you like sushi, you will love it there.
