  I dont get why there have been so many bad reviews... We went as a group of 4 friends for 5 nights all inclusive. Service from staff was great, the food was good plenty of choice and always something to eat even if you dont like it all. Service from 3 bars was good and the upstairs bar had snacks like pastries and sanwhiches available all day. The room was clean and tidy and the staff cleaned it daily.   Nice but could improve

  The hotel facilities are lovely, and the room was a great size with plenty of space! I’m sure we were in room 537.Unfortunately, the food was really disappointing. There wasn’t a huge amount of choice, and the standard wasn’t great either. We also found some of the staff to be quite rude and unhappy, which did impact the experience. The exception was the lovely lady on the desk at the buffet — she was absolutely delightful and so friendly!Overall, I would recommend the hotel, but I wouldn’t necessarily suggest going all-inclusive.   If you like edible food do not go to this hotel the food was a joke everything that should be hot was not the food wasn't labelled and when staff were asked what the food was they didn't have a clue the food was also frequently covered with flies ?? Hotel room itself was perfectly fine cleaners came everyday and fresh towels provided daily if required The pool looked so dirty like it had a layer of scum on it wasn't brave enough to use it sunbeds old dirty and tired We couldn't check into our room until 3 o'clock we arrived at 11 o'clock there was no where to leave our luggage except lockers that came with a charge I've never experienced that before To use the gym a 20 euro deposit was required I have no idea why same to use the table tennis facility Location was great and every staff member I encountered was helpful and friendly unfortunately we would never come back to this hotel due to the food being so bad we paid for half board but ended up eating out every meal as the food was so bad which cost us a lot more money frustrating when you've paid for a half board service , Dueño at Medplaya Hotel Calypso, responded to this review Dear guest,Thank you for taking the time to share your experience.   Excellent location just off the stripe and near the beach. We stayed in room 535Room was cleaned everyday and bedding changed once during the week.Fresh towels where supplied everyday.There is a problem with a bad smell in the bathroom and I got biten by mosquitos in there. Cleaners do a good gob keeping everything clean my only complaint is the smell in the bathroom.Receptionists where friendly and helpful.The dining room staff where friendly and polite. Food was the usual you would except . Nice salad bar hot food was soSo nice desserts .We slept well at night beds where comfortable and very little noise.
