Severe mold allergy and deposit never returned. Rude staff, little English and zero customer care. Avoid Rentalmar!

    rating17 Aug 2024

I should start by saying that we were a party of 5, - including 2 older kids and an elderly person- and we chose this due to its proximity to the amusement parks in Salou. There may have been better apartments in the complex, but the one we got -administered by RENTALMAR- was basic, little more than camping, rather dirty, the smell was unbearable and we got severe mold allergy because of the washing machine and dish washer. We asked for an upgrade at our own cost after the first night and lost a whole day assuming the promise of the reception was real and they would call with a solution. They never did. Staff in the Rentalmar rental office hardly speak English and have no interest in solving issues. We felt ignored and disrespected on our own money. Upon departue, our 300€ deposit was never returned. Endless emails to the Rentalamar rental office are answered rudely and not even signed with a full name. They keep repeating that amount was blocked and released although paying bank confirmed withdrawal and no refund. They cannot care less if international transfer did not go through and have zero customer service. They treat tourists with total disrespect. Avoid such experiences and stay away! Such businesses should not be permitted to function.

Will be using again great for family's

Just back and I have to say everything was fantastic. We check in no problem gave our deposit which is 50 each adult( over 16 years old). The apartment had everything needed for a very comfortable stay, only thing was no kettle but it did have a coffee maker so we made do. The apartment is large and with the 6 of us 3 adults and 3 kids 18,16 and 10 we still had plenty of space. Clean apartment with lovely grounds, swimming pool open from 9-30 til 10 so plenty of time for the kids to enjoy it. Its less then a ten mins walk from the parks which is idea for if you want to pop back for food during the day. The beach is just a 15 stroll in the other direction. If you are wanting to be partying the night away this is not the apparment for you. It's an ideal place for family's away from the main stretch of the beach so It's nice and peaceful on a nighy you can just relax taking in the views. It's been an absolute pleasure staying there.

WIRST CHECK IN STAFF EVER !!!

    rating30 Jun 2018

These apartments are pretty pricey. They say you can check in at 5pm from a building a few 100 metres. There were hundreds of teenagers checking in. The boy on reception was rude and I ended up waiting 2 hours for keys. He was letting the spanish jump the queue. Just a really bad company. 2 check in staff for 200 clients. The apartments themselves are lovely but you cant park so have to take your luggage a long way. On check out the rudest woman on reception (dark curly hair). Said there was a rubbish bag left in the apartment and I had to go all the way back there to take it out. It was the size of a small carrier bag. I left the rubbish bag in the reception took my breakage deposit and left with my 9yr old boy. She then came out holding the bag with an angry look on her face and showed us MIDDLE FINGER salute !!! In front if my child This is about as bad as customer service gets. Stay somewhere else.

    Lovely Clean Apartments

    rating28 Jun 2018

Stayed here with my husband and 3 young children age 7,4 and 3. I had requested a ground floor apartment which comes with a nice garden area which is enclosed so kids can play. The apartment was nice and clean, had 2 bedrooms one with a double bed (2 singles joined together which wasnt the best for comfort) and the other bedroom had 2 singles (one roll away bed and one on top) There was also a sofa bed in the living area. There was also good storage space for clothes. The were 2 bathrooms which were also nice and clean. The apartments also have a shared swimming pool area, but no sun loungers. If you are going to PortAventura, its about a 15 minute uphill walk which can be a bit tiring with a pram, but they are the closest apartments/hotel to the park if you are not staying on the PortAventura resort. If you have a car, parking in the complex is extra €10 per night, but there is also plenty of on street parking which we used. There are also a small supermaket nearby to stock up on some food etc.A couple of downfalls, the keys for the apartment have to be collected from another office which is only open at certain times, its not far, just down the road. There are 2 many keys which are not marked, would have been betyer with a key fob system, no hair dryer in the apartment, the apartment has to be left immaculatly clean or you will be charged extra and checkout time is quite early 9.30am.Overall lovely apartments, we enjoyed our stay here.

    Third time here now and...

    rating19 Sept 2017

...still liking these apartments very much.We usually have the top floor in block B, it overlooks the town of Salou, along with the complex's swimming pool & grounds. No downsides really, the place has WiFi (check to make sure your apartment has it), air con, two great balconies, and pretty much all creature comforts needed for a week or two away. The underground parking for the car is great too.As a part residential area, it's very quiet day and night, but still near enough to the town, restaurants and beach that you don't feel out of the loop, and being just a few hundred yards walk from PortAventura is a big perk too.And it's very well priced indeed (our stay worked out at E40 per night over 10 nights for a 2 bed).
