    It’s hard to pinpoint a particular positive in summary so I’ll break it down. RoomsVery spacious, clearly soundproofed, great aircon and the cleaning services were excellent. FoodExcellent choice and the best buffet restaurant we have eaten in. Anca at the door was lovely and welcoming and always interacts with children. Booster seats were a bonus and great for our son. LocationBrilliant location for accessing the shops, beach and Portaventura. We walked to Portaventura both days as the weather was amazing. StaffNot a single member of staff appeared disinterested or unpleasant. Lovely and welcoming throughout the whole hotel. The lifts were excellent too, the facilities overall were fantastic.

    We've just returned from a week long stay at the Golden Avendia. The hotel is a bit of a mixed bag, some good points and not so good points...The good:- The apartment set up is great for families, super clean and really comfy beds. I didnt see a single insect in the apartment during our stay, which I think is a first for us abroad!- The hotel is great for kids. Although weirdly there are two kids clubs, one run by the hotel called Goldy Club and the other ran by Tui. The Tui one seemed very quiet in comparison to the Goldy Club. Our kids loved the Goldy Club. The girls were amazing, genuinely full of enthusiasm and joy from day to night. The activities for kids were fab, as were the onsite pools and playparks. The sand one was a huge hit, as was the football pitch.- Really good location, a few mins walk to the middle of Salou.- Good pool bar food and drinks. Pizzas for around 10 euros. Lots of UK drinks options, particularly Orchard Thieves cider.The bad:- The buffet food wasn't great. Really repetitive, lukewarm at best, a cheap whippy ice cream machine was the only ice cream option and it was sickly sweet.- The hotel is very noisy, you can hear everything next door, upstairs, downstairs, down the corridor, everywhere. One night it kept us awake until 1am. - The hotel has 3 pools outside and 1 inside but only one lifeguard, who doesn't speak English. When he takes a break for lunch or to do something, there is no lifeguard present. I found this very unsettling.- The hotel lifts are soooooo slow. There are three and one was broken 6 out of the 8 days we were there. - The hotel entertainment was poor. The only show worth watching was the Michael Jackson tribute act, which was very good.- The hotel toilets are very small and not enough. The ladies has 3 very small cubicles and 2 sinks, neither of which a child can reach to wash their hands. - The hotel keeps inflatables for the pool that guests have left behind locked behind a side gate at the back of the hotel which you have to ask the lifeguard to open. I dont know why its locked and not just made available. We wouldn't have known about it until another guest made us aware.- There was a sickness bug that was rife in the hotel the week we stayed, our family was one of many many families affected. Although not the hotels fault, I wondered if more could have been done to help eg more hand sanitising stations or something along those lines.For us, the negatives outweighed the positives. We wouldn't return here for the reasons above. These facilities are located next to the accessible bathroom. We are sorry that you did not come across them during your stay, as they were designed precisely to provide greater comfort and convenience for families with children.• Regarding the inflatables and pool items left behind by guests, these are stored in a designated area to maintain order, safety and the overall appearance of the pool facilities. If all forgotten items were left around the pool areas, it could create the impression of clutter or abandoned belongings. In addition, many of these items are later donated through the charitable initiatives and fundraising events we organise throughout the year, supporting various local organisations and associations, including groups assisting women affected by domestic violence, mental health charities, cancer support associations and other community projects.• With regard to the alleged stomach virus mentioned in your review, we would like to clarify that we have no record of any outbreak or health-related incident during the dates of your stay. Our facilities, kitchens, water systems and hygiene procedures are subject to rigorous inspections and regulations established by both the Spanish national health authorities and the relevant regional authorities, fully complying with all required standards at all times.Furthermore, we operate strict internal cleaning, food handling and food safety protocols, which are regularly reviewed and monitored. It is worth noting that when travelling, particularly when experiencing changes in climate, eating habits, daily routines or hydration levels, some guests may experience digestive discomfort. For this reason, we always recommend maintaining proper hydration. To support this, Golden provides complimentary filtered drinking water stations throughout the hotel, available to all guests during their stay.For these reasons, we are unable to associate the symptoms described with any health-related incident registered at the hotel during that period.We are genuinely sorry that certain aspects of your stay did not meet your expectations.     First time staying here as we normally stay at the sister hotel golden port im so glad I picked this one the food was different every day and fresh and tastes amazing never had any issues especially with my 2 kids which was a win! Yes it does get abit noisey at night but its a family hotel what do you expect i wouldn't really say it was an issue but everyone different. My 2 children wasn't into the clubs so cant really comment about that but they did have loads of activities for children.     Nice but noisy!

    Pros- Food was very good.- The kitchenette area in the rooms is great.- The rooms in general have a good amount of space and storage for families.- Great having a park, soft play, arcade and football/sports court on site.- Shops near by, good location, not too far from the beach or Port Aventura.Cons- Very noisy hotel! This was our biggest negative point. You can hear everything. Dreadful at night. You can hear someone walking quietly through the corridor never mind when people are talking or running. I could hear everything from rooms away until all hours of the night.- It's a nice pool but it was incredibly cold. My son's lips started turning blue at one point. It put us off using it as much as we would have.- Evening meal time started a little later than we would've liked (6:45pm).- Last negative was I felt the evening entertainment started too late (10pm) but that's just us.We enjoyed our holiday, the hotel is very nice but the noise levels would stop us from returning.     First family holiday with my 3 year old, the staff the hotel are the so accommodating and helpful . From the cleaners to the waiting staff , we went only breakfast we definitely should have went half board food is good plenty of choice , my 3 year old lives the playground , he didn't like the kids entertainment at night too loud , but he did enjoy goldy club, the girls are amazing with the kids .the indoor pool lovely and warm , only thing he didn't like the waterfall at toddler pool, but the life gaurd turned it off when we asked, would definitely recommend as a brilliant family hotelWith the best staff Golden Hotels Guest Experience Team, Guest Services / Front Office at Golden Avenida Family Suites, responded to this review Thank you very much, family!We look forward to welcoming you back for another magical time😊Golden Avenida Family Suites Experience Team.
