  Absolutely nothing to indicate that this is a 5 star resort. Entertainment staff were rude and would ignore you entirely if you were not French. Entertainment was boring and similar day to day. Entertainment ended very early, not much to do after 10:30pm.Food was average, all of my family got sick while eating here. Very clean. but 3 star at best. Many other hotels in the area are much nicer. Would have had a much better experience if entertainment staff were not rude.   Exceptional hotel in a beautiful location

  This is a beautiful hotel which caters for your every need. Professional helpful staff, great rooms, excellent facilities and wonderful location. Perfect for all ages and couples/families or groups. Food is excellent and very varied to suit all nationalities. Very spacious hotel - plenty of space everywhere especially around the pools.   Just returned from a family holiday in Gran Palas and I was very impressed. With most of it. So, good stuff first. Hotel staff were excellent in every facet, reception, bar staff, restaurant etc couldn't have been better. Food (contrary to some reviews on here) was way above average, and variety was actually very good. The hotels facilities and location are superb and the hotel is absolutely spotless. Important stuff. We were all inclusive and it was worth it with children for snacks, ice creams etc. On arrival you get a token for a glass for your drinks at the pool. To clarify, you hand over a token, get your drink of choice in a plastic glass which you then return when you want another drink. They use a different glass however so its not like its a refill and I guess this keeps the pool areas clean and free from empty glasses which I have seen in other hotels. The others bars don't use this system so you just order as normal and get a proper glass. Queues are practically non existent and you'll always get a sunbed and so long as you don't leave breakfast (beautiful omelettes by the way) until the last minute you'll have no wait time. We stayed in a duplex room which was perfect for 2 adults and 3 teenagers as it had plenty of room and 2 bathrooms with walk in showers. Now for the slightly disappointing things. Our room was a Sea View Duplex Room but we got allocated a corner room meaning it had a very small balcony, less than half the size of the one next to us which isn't ideal for 5 people. Also the sea view was practically non existent unless you peered through the numerous palm trees. The view from the balcony doors actually looked at the adjacent hotel so this was disappointing as we paid more for this kind of room than a standard one. Another small disappointment was the entertainment however I will praise the entertainment team who clearly work very hard. Evening entertainment however was severely lacking and not what you'd expect from a 5 star hotel. Just picking up on another previous comment, the hotel carters primarily for French and Spanish visitors so not much English spoken at entertainment events but that's not a negative for me and the bar staff managed English just fine.   Lovely family holiday

  My family and I spent 9 nights here over Easter, half board, and had a fantastic time. We stayed in the Superior Duplex (Ocean View) room, and the room was excellent. Spacious inside, and a huge balcony & private terrace with views of the Mediterranean Sea. I've seen reviews saying the rooms are soundproof - they generally are, except for noise of neighbours running up and down stairs.The food in the restaurant was excellent - buffet style with 4-5 different cuisines on offer each evening. Staff were very helpful, and were lovely to our 2 young children, which really made their holiday - special mention for Monica. There are some really good restaurants in La Pineda about 10 mins walk away if you fancy a change.The spa and indoor pool area was well maintained, and the kids enjoyed it. Some of the outdoor pools (including the waterslide) were not open, assume this was due to the time of year we visited, and they probably open in the summer. There was entertainment organised in the hotel every evening, and really catered for the kids as well as adults.The only downside was difficulty parking - the hotel does have an underground car park (€15 per day); which is a good idea if you want to avoid dozens of laps of La Pineda looking for a space outside.Overall - we thoroughly enjoyed our time in the hotel, great for families as well as couples.   Great holiday

  The location is right next to the beach, a short walk to other bars and shops. Right next door is a bus stop to get the Plana bus to Salou, Port Aventura etc. it’s a lot more quiet than your usual holiday hotel, which isn’t a bad thing. That being said we did visit mid October so I would imagine it to be busier during the summer. The food was excellent, loads of variety and also healthy and unhealthy options! It was a little bit of a stretch for a fussy eater in my group but that’s not the hotel’s fault. The room (twin) was huge, the shower and bath were great, the beds were super comfortable. Everything was clean and fresh. All of the staff I spoke to were very nice and helpful. I’ve read the opposite on here before but I can’t see that being the case- perhaps some people are never happy?! Anyway, there was a lady in the restaurant (I think Monica) who was great, super happy and joking about with my son!The spa pool was really good to use when the outdoor pool was like an ice bath! We played padel on-site for a small deposit on the equipment. Great holiday, very nice staff, super clean hotel, nice food, good location.
