  Moved to this hotel from a nearby one. It’s mostly modern which is not really apparent from the outside. Room was comfortable and quiet. Only downside was a strange sewerage smell on and off. But it was cosy and wellappointed. All staff I encountered were efficient and welcoming. In particular the waiter in the morning at breakfast time who came back in the evenings. And the lovely helpful night porter from Cameroon. Uber efficient and charming. Breakfast was very good. Excellent baked goods and a huge selection of cakes , breads etc. Cereals as well The hotel typifies Ferrara and is charming like the city. Didn’t eat in the evening there but judging by the superb breakfast food would be great I’m sure. Menu was finely priced with local specialties on the card.   Good central location ...

  next to Ferrara castle, unfortunately rooms are dated and required refurbishment, still I was located in quiet room which allowed me to have a good night sleep. For plus was breakfast included with very good service. I had visited Ferrara during Sep. one of the busiest week of the year (during Bologna ceramic show), but room prices were still reasonable. Unfortunately parking due to location is available on street only and sometimes takes some time to find free spot.

  Shabby Rooms and Rude Service

  Hotel Ferrara is not a 4 star hotel - it's not even a 2 star.Rooms that are shabby and poorly-lit, walls that are stained, bathrooms with mildew. And the service makes up for none of it.Everyone who works here is doing the bare minimum - they treat guests like they're an annoyance.Wish we'd gone anyplace else.
