    School Trip POV

    rating29 May 2026

Written from a point of view having just returned with a school trip of around 60 13/14 year olds on a Sports Tour. For what we wanted from this hotel, it comfortably delivered. Location: Superb. 10 minute walk to the beach via a strip of restaurants, shops and, unfortunately not sampled, bars. 20 minutes or so from Port Aventura and Ferrari World theme parks and just over an hour or so from Barcelona centre / airport. Hotel was in great condition. The pools are different than the ones in the photos since the refit. Two decent sized ones, even when 60 kids and 6 staff piled in. The pool bar was great but did have limited opening times. Plenty of sun beds available throughout the day with very little in the way of reserving them. This may be due to most guests being school groups so out all day but we all got beds when we returned at around 3pm one day. Rooms were good with decent balconies. Not all the same as some were bigger than others. Obviously, with hundreds of school kids in, there was some noise in the coridoors but nothing too disastrous and was relatively quiet by midnight. The air con was a godsend and some fridges were open, others not. Pretty clean. No obvious faults but we didn't go looking for them. Biggest negative was the key cards. Pretty much all of them failed to work at least once. Which meant a walk back to reception to get them reset numerous times. The food was bang on for school groups. Nobody went hungry. Plenty of choice every day. At least 2 fish and 3 meats each day. Pasta and salad bar every day. Pizzas, burgers, pork steaks, breads etc. Full English and continental in a morning with pancakes and other cakes. Massive, massive range of food. One bottle of water included per person in our board basis. Long queues when first opened but never felt busy or crowded. Staff were all fantastic and spoke a good level of English. Luggage room downstairs to store suitcases. A large bar / lounge area with (questionable) evening entertainment. The area had pool tables, table football but didn't open until 11am and closed around midnight. The lifts all worked and everywhere was clean and tidy. A mix of English and Spanish guests. I did feel for them with the number of kids in the hotel but I didn't see or hear of any issues so just be prepared for busy periods. Guess it depends on the staff who go as I think we dropped lucky as the school staff did a pretty good job controling and managing the kids. (He says, wishfully!)Would I go again? Yeah with a sports tour. Would I go with my family? Maybe not, purely based on the amount of students there. I get enough of that during term time!

first day mould on food such as croissant and the food was hard and stale. we had a donut that was so hard you could bang on table and it snap in half eventually. the next days the food was good. this is confusing but the food was very good the next 2 days after! next we put do not disturb on door and they cleaned our room anyway?? they did good clean but we did not want clean. the pool is freezing but sunbeds nice to chill on. balcony was big and spacious. also staff at desk where very friendly and helpful. the beds were very comfy to stay in. the tv did not work but we did have a fridge. also noise from clubs keep you up but not hotel fault.

Where do I start...... I came in sep 2025 and rated this hotel a 4 star as it was perfect from food to rooms, location. I came back to the same hotel fot the above reasons. How disappointed am I. ..1st couldn't open fridge door went to reception to tell them ( as the room phone doesn't work) only to be told NOW you have to pay to get the fridge open. I said OK how much?? €2 per night. OK I won't use it tonight or my last night so I said I'll book it for 5 nights only to be told oh you can't have it for 5 nights minimum of 7 nights, so not €2 a night €14 minimum.2nd if you want hot food forget it, it's not even warm food comes out cold and they hope the food warmer heats it up, there is a microwave but I think it must run on coal as you can put your food in and wait 10 mins and get warm food.Massive queue for toaster. Coffee machine and juice machine. So even if you manage to get slightly warm food by the time you queue for coffee your food is stone cold, if you get your coffee 1st then you food the coffee is stone cold. And if you want ice cream it's melted so they can't keep anything cold as well as not keeping anything hot.The place is a joke Entertainment....... what Entertainment NONE unless you like 1 game of bingo or a Spanish discoI booked half board but hat to spend a lot extra on eating out .so my advice would to be book room only and plan to eat out. On the plus side the location is still good.
