  Great Hotel and Location, Restaurant Could Be Better

  Having visited this area many years ago, I was delighted to return and stay at the César Augustus. The location is superb, just a short walk from both Salou and Cambrils, with the beach right on the doorstep.Our room was spotless throughout our stay, and housekeeping maintained a very high standard. The only area that let the hotel down for us was the restaurant. There was plenty of choice and the overall food quality was good, but the breakfast was not hot enough, even when we arrived first as soon as the restaurant opened. Cold baked beans and eggs are never particularly appealing! At dinner, water is not even provided as complimentary with the meal, despite tumblers already being set on the tables, and having to purchase bottled water felt disappointing.Other than that, we had a wonderful stay. The staff were friendly, the hotel was clean and comfortable, and the location is excellent. There is a self service launderette 5 minutes walk away which was very handy for our 10 day stay. I would happily stay here again and would recommend it to anyone looking for a good base to explore both Cambrils and Salou.   Catered for spanish only, this was food and entertainment. Food awful, and cold, very small choice, mainly fish, some salad but nothing to put with it. Everything cooked in grease and oils.Can not take any drinks into restaurant, even if bought from onsite bar.restaurant staff very rude.Entertainment all in Spanish.Very hard to communicatedefinitely not value for money, we went half board but had to eat out for all meals.   The hotel was very good. The staff were very friendly. The food was good, and a good selection but could have been hotter . We had a room at the back of the hotel where roadworks are being carried out, the machinery started up about 8 am which made it difficult to sleep.   We were looking for a hotel for two nights near the Sanguli campsite because family members were staying there. Since we booked late, this was the only available option in the area, although we found the price rather high—actually above our budget. But everything was perfect.   Rooms not suitable for 4 people (2 adults and 2 teenagers). Mattresses were very hard. Breakfast was very monotonous.
