    Ideal central location in Tarragona

    We stayed here for ten days. This was an ideal location for us as we wanted both a break in the sun with places of interest to visit and close to the railway station for excursions further afield. The beach is not too far to walk to. The railway line runs close to the hotel but as it lies below the cliff next to the promenade, the trains can barely be heard. It has the most beautiful entrance hall though strictly this is for the apartments which share the building. The hotel is modern, clean and well maintained. The rooms are of an adequate size most, though not all, with balconies. There is one chair in the room and no space to relax, other than the bed. Clothes storage is minimal with no doors. The TV has no English service (not even an American one - I like to keep abreast of the news). There is a small fridge but no tea/coffee making facilities. The safe is small. I couldn’t fit in my laptop. Rooms are serviced daily though there does not seem to be an eco-friendly policy. We didn’t need clean towels every day.The breakfast facilities were adequate: great for cereal and cold buffet but the hot option was poor. The pool is of an adequate size and clean and well maintained. There were sufficient loungers and chairs for the number of guests staying. Towels are available for the pool. The staff were friendly and welcoming and knowledgeable about the locality. On the down side - the carpets in the communal areas were grubby and there was sometimes a sewer smell in the lobby and corridors. This did not detract from our stay. Overall, a great place to stay.     Nice hotel with flaws

    We stayed for a week and were generally pleased with the hotel. Very clean, ideal location and friendly staff. However, having no tea/coffee facilities in the room was very disappointing. Even a small kettle would have been appreciated. The breakfast was adequate but expensive for what you got. No vegetables at all which was odd. The toiletries were rationed and it all felt a bit mean to be honest. The bathroom itself had a mouldy stench to it, which was temporarily alleviated only when the cleaner bleached the floor and drains. Maybe a couple of pictures on the wall could cheer up the room as well? These issues could be addressed easily.Overall, we enjoyed Tarragona, and the hotel was ok. To be fair we expected better.     Worse experience in Spain

    When you walk in, the room is nice and everything is clean. Room is spacious and in great location but that’s about it. They say there’s air conditioning but only in the summer months. I’m laying in bed in a hot room with every door and window open waiting for the morning to leave. It’s hot outside and zero breeze to cool off the room. There’s no shower gel in the bathroom and the only small bar soap wasn’t really enough for 2 people. Worst experience ever. I love Tarragona but do not recommend this hotel. Normally, the heating system is active from late October until April, and the cooling system from May until late October, although these dates may vary depending on weather forecasts and temperatures.In your particular case, the heating system was still active because, although daytime temperatures have recently been quite high, nights during this time of year are often still cool. We understand that room temperature preferences can vary, and we are sorry for the discomfort caused during your stay.Regarding the shower gel, we sincerely apologize if the amenities provided were insufficient. Normally, each room is equipped with two gel-shampoo tubes and one bar of soap.     my home away from home

    Just completed another month in a Lauria apartment, my Iberian home away from my American home. It never disappoints and, like Tarragona itself, never gets old. I like the 3rd floor apartments with terraces: even if I don't need the second bedroom, or the weather doesn't invite hours outside on the terrace, the sense of space and light are worth it. (and the rates are a bargain, anyway) Shout-outs to Eloy and Paola, who over the years have become like family.     No mirror mirror on the wall!

    Hotel Lauria is in a great location and is a lovely hotel with stunning features. The staff were lovely and really helpful with any queries we had. My only negative is that although the rooms and bathroom were extremely comfortable and clean, there was no shelf in the shower which meant that you had to pick your shampoo etc up off the floor which could be difficult for some people. Also there was no other mirror in the room other than in the bathroom which was really inconvenient as a couple getting ready. I know they are not massive problems but they are ones that are easily and inexpensively sorted and I do feel they let the hotel down.
