  A smelly experience

  The location is as good as you can get it to visit Portaventura: you are basically sleeping inside the park. Atmosphere is cool, even if I'd say they could have done much better in creating something unique to the park, the hotel felt a little generic. Now, the worst part of our stay was the room. It was full of mold, smelly and not properly cleaned. We found hairs in the shower, empty amenities and very basic toiletries. This resort is not keeping the pace, and I believe the price reflects this, however it is still too expensive for what you get. People at the reception were nice and efficient, which is why I gave 2 stars, unfortunately the line for complaints was as long as the line for check in. Food was decent, but I would say it won't be adequate for more than 1/2 nights. Very few healthy options and loads of fried foods. As a final point, waiting in a line for almost 35 min to get into the park, while being an hotel client is somehow ridiculous.... Why can't you let hotel guests inside the park sooner than all the other clients?   Don’t waste your money

  Me and my family have just returned today,? Very disappointing and extremely overpriced stayWe were really disappointed with our stay at the PortAventura Hotel, particularly considering how expensive the room-only accommodation was. For the price we paid, we expected a much higher standard.Our room was in a very poor condition. The ceiling was mouldy and water was actually dripping from it, which is completely unacceptable. The room was also very small for a family, and the bath did not drain properly, making it difficult to use. The hallways towards our room were very smelly from damp and even had holes in the walls.The area around the sliding doors was extremely muddy, particularly after using the pool. This meant that every time we came back into the room after swimming, mud was being walked straight into the room. It became incredibly frustrating and difficult to keep the room clean.The pool experience was also disappointing. Pool toys are not allowed, which made it difficult for the children to enjoy the pool in the way they wanted to. We also found the lifeguards’ behaviour uncomfortable. They seemed to spend a lot of time staring at the children even when they were behaving appropriately and doing absolutely nothing wrong, which made us feel uncomfortable rather than reassured.What was perhaps most disappointing was the attitude of some of the PortAventura staff. We found them to be rude, dismissive and unhelpful, particularly when we explained that we were travelling with two children with additional/special needs. We expected a little understanding and compassion, but instead we often felt as though our needs were an inconvenience.Travelling with two children with additional needs is challenging enough without having to constantly deal with problems that should never have been there in the first place. When you are paying a significant amount of money for a hotel, you should be able to expect a clean, well-maintained room, basic facilities that work properly and staff who treat you with respect.Unfortunately, this hotel fell well short of those expectations.For the price we paid, the standard of accommodation and customer service was simply not good enough. There are plenty of places where we would rather spend our money in future.Would we stay here again? Absolutely not and I will never return to Spain as the locals were awful towards holiday makers.   well, i thought i would write this review as i'm currently here now and notice how many bad reviews there are concerning mould and dirty rooms.I can confirm our room is very clean and not a bit of mould anywhere. However, while walking through reception last night, there was certainly people complaining and asking to move rooms, i am wondering if half of the rooms have been done up and half not, just for the record we are real close to the park entrance. So on to food, its ok, i've had better, but there is enough to go at, seems to be a lack of bars at night though, infact not one normal bar like you get in other hotels. There is still somewhere to buy drinks and seem to be open until real late . Going onto the park, its great how you can just go in and out of there using your key card, will see how rest of week goes PortAventura World, Other at Portaventura Hotel Portaventura, responded to this review Thank you for your review!   Teh Hotel:Rooms smell extremely muddy, and are very smallOld air-conditioners, either you suffer from their muddy smell, or you suffer from heat, its your choice.Floors, reception and dining room lack sufficient air-conditioning. If your table is not directly below the air-con, you will sweat during dining.The Buffet: No sufficient variety in meat dishes. Sweets are cheap and not tasty. Pasta sauce without taste, suitable for children only.The PortAventura Park:If you go in Summer, when temperatures are above 30 degrees, and no clouds in the sky, be prepared to be grilled in the waiting lines. You will need to wait 1 hour on average, 50% of that time exposed to direct sun. There are no sufficient shadow places in the park, which makes the journy more suffering than joy.The Ferari Park:This park offers limited value for families with children under 12. For older visitors, the main attraction requires approximately 1.5 hours of waiting. In the waiting line you will experience agressive people, smoking people, smell of sweat and a negative vibe in general, because everybody is exhausted and frustrated from the long waitung.
