Was ok but wouldn't come again

    rating29 May 2026

This was our first family holiday to this hotel and after reading the reviews we thought we'd give it a try. Check-in was all okay, got the keys, went to our room. From other reviews, yes the room is small and pretty much had to keep our clothes in the suit case as there was no where to put them. Bathroom was modern with walk in shower. Breakfast was a bit hit a miss for me but this is all down to your own preference. Dinner times a bit better with the odd thing different every night but if you have the chicken it is very dry! I would of like to have seen more fresh fruit and vegetables. Our booking was for full board which means breakfast, lunch and dinner. We tried going for lunch but got refused entry, I explained we're full board but was told to go to reception. Went to reception, shown them that we are full board and was refused lunch. The receptionist then said if we want lunch we'd have to pay for it! So I had to contact Jet2 for them to sort it out. To their credit Jet2 sorted it out within an hour. I went to reception and they gave me another card to say full board, so originally they have us a half board card! I was told on our last day we would be able to have lunch before departing. So went for lunch only to be turned away AGAIN by the same guy. At this point we'd had enough and went to the shop for some snacks for my little boy. Seems like there's different rules or lack of communication between staff. We had a couple of pools days which were okay, always managed to get a sun lounger. The kids pool floor needs checking as my boy cut his toe. Sun loungers need replacing as they were very old and tired! Didn't go to entertainment as it was always on too late for kids so I can't comment on that. The restaurant staff who were serving were polite and helpful. After the fiasco with recieving wrong dining card and being told different things, it's really put me off and I wouldn't recommend this hotel.

Would return if it’s given some TLC, needs a make over

    rating28 May 2026

We stayed here 2 years ago and I wrote a glowing review, this year Is a little different. We arrived at the hotel and after only a short wait were given our room key card, on entering the room and checking out the balcony area we were very disappointed. Room 1127 is the first floor corner walled balcony a little like a prison block, I went to reception and was told to come back the following morning to speak to a Manager who is on shift from 8am to change room, we didn’t unpack. I went down to reception at 7:45am the next morning to be told to come back at 10am, I explained I would wait until 8am as this is what I was told, so sat in reception, at 8:10am I went back to the desk to be told we could move to room 1137 that day at 2pm, so we went out to the beach for the morning returning at 2pm to be told no rooms now available, they had an influx of bookings we would have to wait and see if there were rooms the next day., as you can imagine we were very upset, my daughter especially as I have been ill and it was not helping the situation, tempers were high, voices were raised by both my daughter and the reception Manager., due to the fact we had been given a specific room number and were told to come back at 2, which impacted our day out. We returned to the room and I made the decision to stay as it was making me unwell and we needed to unpack, it was my grandson holiday too and I didn’t want it spoiling as he didn’t understand what was going on.The balcony area needs brightening up, painting white, cleaning and made more inviting the silver massive piping is an eyesore although has to be there. I would not recommend room 1127 to anyone. I feel that staying in May was an error on or part as it was so much different from the August. No themed evenings, or show foods, no freshly squeezed orange juice (omelette station still there tho.. ❤️ pool didn’t open until 10am this year., sunbeds were harder to come by than in August, local kids holidays who had rooms across from us and they were the noisiest rudest kids I’ve ever met, no teachers seem to have them under control, in and out of each others bedrooms until early hours knocking on doors, it was unacceptable. The pool area looks tired, the sunbeds need replacing, some are sunken, some floor tiles broken. No smell from the pool though as others have mentioned. A few children cut their toes including my grandson when I advised the life guards they explained it was not inside the pool but the small rock path around the pool, they recommend swim shoes which we bought for €9 in the town, the shop sells them but wrong size. They completed the accident book which was full of the same incidents, they said the hotel manager is aware. Mickey, Yasmin and the crew are wonderful,, due to it being May all the entertainment was indoors so limited seating where in August it’s outside. My daughter used the Gym which she said was adequate, the outdoor pool table and football table were both broken. The outdoor food hut was busy and food was nice. As you can choose between taking lunch or evening meal by letting reception know in the morning we did eat out at night when we had a pool day., so that was nice The food in any hotel with mass serving isn’t perfect, but we managed to eat when we needed. We love Salou, we will return but would check reviews for Belvedere for any improvements before we choose this hotel again., it’s in such a good area easy access for town and beach, just needs a little TLC. Aleksandra Jaminska, Director General at Ohtels Belvedere, responded to this review Dear Karen,Thank you for taking the time to share such a detailed review following your recent stay with us and also for returning to our hotel after your previous positive experience.First of all, we are truly sorry to read about the disappointment caused by the room allocation and especially the confusion regarding the requested room change. We fully understand how frustrating this situation must have been for you and your family, particularly after being given a specific room number and later being informed it was no longer available. We sincerely apologise for the inconvenience and stress caused during what should have been a relaxing holiday. We also appreciate your honest comments regarding the condition of some facilities. Please be assured that all feedback is taken seriously and shared with the relevant departments, as continuous maintenance and improvements are very important to us.Regarding the pool surroundings, guest safety is a priority and we regret your grandson experienced this incident. Our team always records and follows up all reported accidents so preventive measures can continue to be reviewed. At the same time, we are pleased to know there were still positive aspects of your stay that you enjoyed, especially our entertainment team. Mickey, Yasmin and the rest of the animation crew will be delighted to receive your kind words. We are also glad you appreciated the hotel’s location, the flexibility with meal arrangements and the outdoor snack area.As you mentioned, May and August can offer very different atmospheres due to occupancy levels, seasonal entertainment schedules and the presence of school groups during certain periods. Nevertheless, we understand your comments regarding noise and guest behaviour, and we are sorry this negatively affected your experience. We genuinely value your loyalty and your constructive feedback, as it helps us identify areas where we can continue improving. We hope you may give us another opportunity in the future to provide you with a much better experience closer to the one you remembered from your previous stay.Kind regards,

Lovely hotel however food always cold in dining room which made us eat out couple of times when you are checking out you have to carry cases down stairs which isn’t easy we spent five days here never changed our bedding once nearly an hour checking in as all systems went down wasn’t nice having travelled all day some nights were noisy families coming in late shouting and kids running down corridors Aleksandra Jaminska, Director General at Ohtels Belvedere, responded to this review Dear Guest,Thank you for taking the time to share your feedback following your stay with us.We are pleased to know that you enjoyed the hotel’s location and the variety of restaurants and bars nearby. At the same time, we are sorry to read that some aspects of your experience did not fully meet your expectations. Please accept our apologies for the inconvenience caused during check-in due to the temporary system failure, especially after your journey. We also regret the disturbances caused by noise during some nights.Regarding the bedding, we would like to inform you that, as part of our environmental policy, bed linen is changed every 3 days unless guests request an additional change during their stay. Disappointed

    rating27 May 2026

I have stayed in Salou 5 times and thought we would try a different hotel, we arrived at the hotel about 6pm we headed to our room and everything looked ok, we requested a pool view which we got, room looked clean but on the small side.we stayed in 1645 which is top floor. First night we decided to head down for food and the Que to the restaurant was nearly reaching the reception so we decided to head out and find somewhere else to eat.We were half board, we didn’t eat in the restaurant on an evening. Breakfast was ok, I only had continental breakfast which seemed to be replenished often. One guy in the restaurant was rude but everyone else was nice.I hired a kettle for €10,one suggestion I would like to make is that you provide a teaspoon with it, I bought a cup from the shop but when I went to make a drink had nothing to stir it with so I got a spoon from the restaurant. This is when I was told I couldn’t do this because if one person did it everyone would do it, he did offer a wood spoon but I felt this could have been easily avoided if it had been provided when hiring the kettle, you do get your money back when you return it.The longer we stayed at the hotel the more problems we seen, the hallways to the rooms not hoovered, a previous guest plaster on the balcony wall, our door was actually broken. At the beginning of our holiday we could smell a strong smell of what can be only described as smelly feet around the pool area,we at first thought this was another guest or the wood from the slide structure. Throughout the holiday we could smell this,my husband went in the pool and said it was coming from the water,I then read up to see why the pool water would smell like this and seen that it was from the chlorine not working, throughout the holiday we never seen the pool itself get cleaned only hosing the surrounding areas,we never seen the PH levels being checked at any point, we have seen this be done in many hotels throughout the day before and would imagine with it being a child’s pool this would be done more due to accidents etc, When the smell got unbearable I went to reception and explained the above and she said she would get someone to look at it. I went straight back out and nobody came out to check the pool. The only time we smelt the pool was clean was on the morning we were leaving and the hotel were showing people(hoteliers/business people) around the hotel. The yellow sun loungers have seen better days, they were sunken in the middle,I sat on one for half a day before I couldn’t sit on it any longer and had to change it,they are dirty and in need of new ones, the other loungers are better. There is a lack of parasols, thankfully we made friends with a family who were happy to share the one they had, the parasols are bolted to the floor so couldn’t be moved. I did see someone guests coming down later on in the day and there weren’t any loungers available however the life guards brought them one out. The life guards were brilliant, they were on it,I’ve never seen anything like them before, jumped in to help a little boy out before anyone had even seen him. Always helping guests and friendly. The staff at the pool bar were great, friendly and work harding, the food was a good price. I wouldn’t return to this hotel, it’s crazy they don’t open the pool until 10am which then causes people to que up. The points I have raised where raised with the rep who did speak to the hotel Aleksandra Jaminska, Director General at Ohtels Belvedere, responded to this review Dear Laura,As this is now the third time we are responding to the same review and concerns, we would once again like to clarify several important points regarding the pool hygiene and maintenance, as we strongly disagree with the statements made.First of all, the swimming pool is cleaned every single morning at 7:00am by our maintenance team before guests begin using the facilities. This is most likely the reason why you did not personally see the maintenance staff working around the pool area, as at that time most guests are still asleep. The pool water is crystal clear, and we take the hygiene and safety of our facilities extremely seriously. In addition, chlorine and pH levels are checked and recorded daily. These control records are publicly available for all guests to consult next to the information panel by the pool area. Furthermore, external laboratory audits are also carried out regularly to guarantee full compliance with all health and safety regulations. The latest inspection took place only 10 days ago, and all results were completely correct. For this reason, we do not understand your comments regarding an alleged smell of “smelly feet” coming from the pool water. This is the only complaint of this nature we have received, despite having hundreds of guests using the pool facilities every day.We also find it important to point out that, although you mention several negative aspects, you also recognised the professionalism of our lifeguards and the friendliness of the pool bar staff, which we appreciate.Regarding the opening time of the pool, this schedule is established precisely to allow the complete cleaning, maintenance and safety checks of the facilities every morning before opening to guests. We regret that the hotel did not meet your expectations, but we must firmly state that the comments regarding the cleanliness and safety of the pool do not reflect the reality of our procedures nor the condition of our facilities.Kind regards,

Horrible will not be coming again

    rating25 May 2026

The staff were extremely rude to me and there was kids banging on my door all throughout the night I will not be coming here again as the room service was not as clean as expected the pool was a disgrace I jumped in the pool and there was a smell of pee and the next day apparently somebody took a poo in the pool which is just disgusting I do not recommend coming here from my experience thank you Aleksandra Jaminska, Director General at Ohtels Belvedere, responded to this review Dear Guest,We are very surprised by your comments, as they do not reflect the reality of our hotel or the standards we maintain on a daily basis.First of all, we strongly reject the accusation that our staff were rude. Our team works professionally and respectfully with all guests, and we do not understand what may have happened during your stay for you to attack our staff and facilities in this way.Regarding cleanliness, our housekeeping department follows strict cleaning protocols and standards every single day. Cleanliness is one of the aspects most positively valued by the vast majority of our guests.Concerning the swimming pool, this matter has already been discussed with your agency representative, as these statements are simply false. Chlorine and pH analyses are carried out twice a day and all results are recorded and publicly displayed on the information board next to the pool. At no point was there any incident involving feces in the pool, nor does the pool smell of urine. We believe that making such serious accusations without any evidence is unfair and misleading, especially when the facts and official records clearly prove otherwise.Kind regards,
