Location

This family friendly hotel lies in the heart of Salou and is just across the street from the sandy beach. The Nautical Club as well as various shops and restaurants are within the vicinity and it is 10 km to Reus airport from the hotel.

Facility

25 single rooms and 75 double rooms are located on 4 storeys and can be reached by lift. Multilingual staff (English, German, French) at the reception are happy to assist guests at the reception desk round the clock. Check-in and check-out are available 24 hours a day. A baggage storage service, a safe and a drinks machine are available. Wireless internet access allows guests to stay connected while on holiday. The tour desk offers assistance with booking excursions. The hotel has a range of facilities for guests with disabilities. The hotel has wheelchair-accessible facilities. A garden provides extra space for rest and relaxation in the open air. Additional amenities include a TV room, a playroom and a library. Guests arriving by car can park their vehicles in the garage or in the car park. Other services include a 24-hour security service, a car hire service, medical assistance, a transfer service, room service, an alarm call service, a laundry service, a hairdresser and a hotel shuttle bus. Active guests can make use of the bicycle hire service to explore the surrounding area. A business centre with fax machine and photocopier is available.

Rooms

Air conditioning and central heating ensure that rooms maintain comfortable temperatures. A balcony or terrace is among the standard features in the rooms. Rooms include a double bed. Extra beds can be requested. A safe, a minibar and a desk are also available. Guests will also find a refrigerator included among the standard features.     Aggressive handling of a concern

    This review relates to an incident that took place several months ago. I intentionally delayed posting this to allow the hotel sufficient opportunity to address the matter directly. Despite repeated attempts to resolve the issue, no satisfactory response has been provided.Upon arrival, I was assigned a room that did not correspond to the category I had booked and paid for. The room provided was clearly a different type than what was presented during the reservation process, and no alternative was offered.When I raised this at reception, the situation was handled very poorly. The interaction escalated and the behaviour of the staff became aggressive and confrontational. I did not feel safe or comfortable remaining at the property, and as a result I had no choice but to leave and arrange alternative accommodation at additional cost.In later correspondence, the hotel stated that any discrepancies are the responsibility of the booking platform. However, as the accommodation provider, the hotel remains responsible for ensuring that the information presented to guests reflects what is actually provided on-site.The claim that assistance was offered does not reflect my experience. No concrete or workable solution was provided at the time.Over the following months, I made several attempts to resolve this matter directly with the hotel. These efforts were either not answered or redirected elsewhere, without any resolution.In summary:The room provided did not correspond to the booked categoryNo alternative or solution was offered on arrivalThe situation at reception escalated, with aggressive and unprofessional behaviour from staffResponsibility was deflected rather than addressedNo resolution despite repeated follow-up over several monthsBased on this experience, I cannot recommend this hotel, particularly in terms of customer service and how problems are handled.

    Great location, Great room ( clean and had it cleaned daily ) Food rating has to be poor for me where theres wasn't much options and I emailed this hotel before I arrive stating gluten free allergy and through out the holiday there was any gluten free option. Afternoon meal was postponed for a group of people which isnt Great. Some food and pudding was great but most of the the poor for value of money I think. Also I think its better if they made it clear to guest what is and isnt included in the hotel package regarding half board. Friendly and kind staff through out. Won't be staying here again.

    Very nice one week stay in September ! The weather was fine and the stay in this hotel was very agreeable. The atmosphere was quite familiar and the professionals rather helpful. The food was a bit salty but tasty.Excellent location facing the Mediterranean ! Single rooms a bit small but with everything necessary, a minibar included.Travelled with a friend and we'll be back !

    Based on the mixed reviews I thought long before booking this hotel. However, very glad I did. Spotlessly clean throughout the hotel, basic but very comfortable rooms. Breakfast is basic but enjoyable. The terrace is very good - probably the high point. Staff were mixed, some lovely, some a little more grumpy, but this is often the case anywhere you go. I took my Dad abroad for the first time in 40 years as we lost my Mom last year - so thanks to Hotel Planas for a great stay :)
